Hey everyone, I'm here again after a hiatus. I'll try to keep up as much as I can. Today I'll be doing Blogging Challenge Part - 2 | Day - 18 | Are we obliged to help others?

Are we obliged to help others? Before I can answer that question, let me ask you; do you like helping others? Yes, all of you will have the same answer that they like helping others, but not all the time; it’s expected. And to answer the first question, no, we’re not obliged to help others but oftentimes we feel obligated due to conscience.

I will repeat, we’re not obligated to help anyone. Whatever help that we do, we do it out of free will and duty to our sense of responsibility. We can always choose who to help or who to cut off; we can choose how to help and whereto not lend a hand. And if all these are within our capacity then ultimately the sense of helping others doesn’t come out of obligation.

We’re somehow helping someone else on a regular basis, one way or the other. There are scales too, small scale help and big ones; regardless of the impact, all help matters. It’s also said that help can create a ripple effect like a pebble thrown in the water or a chain like the dominoes falling after the first one is pushed. I know I’m talking a little bit out of the topic but I'm just showing what helping others can create. Oftentimes you’ll also hear that if you help someone, that effect will somehow get back to you. Does any of that relate to obligation? No, if the obligation is added to helping then it’s no help at all, now, is it?

Helping others is a choice, an action carried out by free will. I don't know if you'll agree with that but this is what I believe. As much as I help others, I have my limits too and I'm allowed to have the limitations. I help as much as possible not just within my comfort zone but also out of it if that doesn't cause to hamper me.
