30 Days Blogging Challenge ~ Part 01 // My Blog Name

The name of a person identifies or explain who the person is. Thousands of us today, our parents named us base on the circumstances surrounding our births while few were named by their parents base on name they loved but in a country like Nigeria where I come from, many parents have reasons why they named their children a particular name they bear today.

Our names are our identity and we are addressed and known by that name, it is a personal identity that we can't do without. We all have a name and we are addressed by that name wherever we go or find ourselves.

Funny enough, many of us when we got into secondary school, we started bearing nickname we would love clique of friends or our peers to address us as in school and that name spreads into different ears. We realize that many begin to call us by our nickname instead of our real names given to us by our parents.

I on the other hand, wasn't in the click actually, I never had a nickname in school and even if I had tried, wouldn't have come up with any simple name because my name was simple enough even though many people pronounced it differently.

In the same way, Hive is a social platform that before one get registered, one must pick a name to be addressed as and it is always a unique name because nobody has that same name in the platform. You can never see two different people bearing the same name on the platform. Even if it is the same pronunciation, it will never be the same spelling.

When we were all asked to pick our Hive account name, many choose for themselves, one in which we wanted to be known and also addressed that way but unfortunately they were not accepted because other people already beared the name on the platform but my case was different because I wasn't the one who choose my blog name.

The one who opened my account came up with the blog name for me but explaining how it came around isn't farfetched as the first three letters EVE was derived from my name EVELYN, EVE means LIVING while the five letters GRACE was derived from my first introductory post about myself I scribbled for myself even before I got into Hive Blockchain. The grace was gotten from my life experiences and challenges he knew me to have faced and how I was able come out. I lived by the grace of God and I am still living by His grace.

So my blog name is a simple name but speaks a lot about my life experiences and how I am still living in spite of the challenges I was going through which was by the grace of God and not by my grace and I intend keeping that name and using it for as many blog I wish to open with a name.

I intend to use it to open my own private firm because my blog name has become a part of me. Don't get me wrong, I love my birth name so dearly and won't change it for anything as much as I love my blog name and that is why I am happy that my blog name still carries the first three letters of my name so it doesn't look like I am discarding my birth name.

I feel so much joy when I tell people about my blog name and they just look at me wondering why I choose to bear those two names "Eve" and "Grace" as a blog name while some tell me how nice the name sounds.

The truth is my blog name fits my personality and speaks thousands words that are unspoken about myself and my life and so it remains with me till the end of the earth.

Wow! That's impressive, I actually thought you are the second Eve from the time of Adam and has come to give us the fruit grace. 🤪, I'm just kidding but I will love to know the stories that brought about this unique nickname? 😁
