Past Life Regression

What are your thoughts on hypnotic regression to uncover past lives?

The most intriguing case I've heard of is William Barnes. He claims to have been Thomas Andrews in a previous life. I don't believe it but it's entertaining to listen to his story. He has a book to sell but it seems like he honestly believes his own story so I wouldn't call him a charlatan.

Officially in my religion reincarnation is considered false doctrine. There are some things in science that I believe are true that conflict with my religion so that can lead to some cognitive dissonance. In terms of reincarnation though I think both science and my religion are 100% in agreement.

Pat life regressions can definitely be very interesting, but whether they reveal anything tangible has a lot to do with the practitioner. It's one of those situations where it can be easy to "lead" the person being regressed, rather than just allowing whatever is there to come up.

Yes, I can appreciate some people might have some cognitive dissonance when it comes to things like past lives vs. their religious doctrine.

Bright Blessings!
