Mansion On The Hill - #freewrite - Prompt - Vampires - Text and Audio Version
The old mansion on the hill was a bit run down and the Big gates at the bottom of the driveway hung of their hinges and it actually looked like they had not been opened for months
Everyone in Town knew of the legend of Mortius and his family. Vampires everyone said.
There was a time when the Aloysious family took part in all the activities that were ever held in the village.
That was until they all saw young Hortius Aloysius with deep red blood dripping from his chin.
Vampires the cry went out and from that Day Mortius, Hedrena, Hortius and his brother Gerald were all banished from coming into the village, for anything.
Mortius and Gerald used to sneak out at night and travel to the next town to get supplies, although sneaking out at night was not the best thing that they could be doing, it only served to confirm to the village that they were indeed Vampires.
It had been said that Mortius and his family had lived in that house for generations and that they only snuck out at night to feed their thirst.
The Village was very grateful that they didn’t feed their thirst in their Village.
In fact, not once can anyone recall anyone in the Village going missing.
It was this very fact that drove the curiosity of Ingrid.
She didn’t believe in Vampires and was quite surprised to find herself being brought up in a Village that did.
She didn’t believe all the rumours and horror stories that was common place gossip.
She wanted to find out for herself
So on the night of the 18th, which just happened to be a full moon, Ingrid snuck out from her house and proceeded to march up to the Mansion on the Hill,
She squeezed between the hanging gates and dashed from one bush to another all the way to the top of the driveway
Even though she didn’t believe the rumours, she still found herself a little afraid.
As she approached the Mansion itself, she heard a loud scream and a low growl, which made her jump; she shimmied up to the window and looked in
There she saw, Mortius, Hedrena, Hortius and Gerald, all standing around a long flat stone table.
Mortius was holding, in his hand, he biggest and reddest thing she had ever seen.
As he gazed at it he was shouting out with pride
This is the best darn Beets we have ever grown.
Hedrena replied with. I am so glad that we put in that big garden, being Vegan in this place is so hard

This is actually really cool (and funny twist!). Thanks for sharing. I had no idea this existed but I am glad to have found it. I used to write short stories quite a bit in my younger days. Perhaps I'll dust that off.
