The Older Days of Anime: OCD Community Boost Contest #3: Highlighting The Anime Realm
Hello Friends,
https://peakd.com/hive-174578/@ocd/ocd-community-boost-contest-3-highlighting-the-anime-realm
Childhood is an important stage for a person and the journey we go thru as a child will be the memories we cherish throughout our life.
Thanks to @OCD's weekly contests to explore on other communities and here I am saying a BIG Hi to all the team members of this week's highlighted community The Anime Realm.
Well, I think there is always a confusion between anime/Manga and cartoons, infact, I am still not very clear about the distinct difference between those 2.
Anyways, here I am to provide some information about the Anime/Manga series I have watched as a kid(Most of them are in our local languages like Hindi or Kannada) and definitely you might not have heard about those unless you are from India :)
Since the preference has to be given to the anime from 1990's, I will try to refresh my memory as I was just a 10+ year old boy by that time....
My favorite anime series from 1990's and early 2000:
Ghayab Aya:

Incidentally this happens to be the first anime television series in India showed on National Television Network(known as Doordarshan).
The story revolves around adventures of a naughty yet friendly ghost known as Ghayab and couple of people and animals.
Although I was too young to re-collect the exact stories, all I know that, there were 10 episodes of this interesting anime series.
The Adventures of Tenali Rama:

Although few other countable anime series got telecast on Indian television in 1990's like Vartamaan and Lok Gatha, they were not that prominent ones, but the one I mentioned here i.e. The Adventures of Tenali Rama is World famous one in terms of humorous yet witty stories about King Krishnadevaraya and his Minister Tenali Rama.
This was also the first Indian anime series wholly based on Indian characters like I explained above. The first 3 were based on characters from other countries and this particular series was also the first to be produced fully in India.
The short stories in this anime series are very famous and not just kids, even the elders enjoy reading/watching the same.
The Jungle Book:

Although not from 1990's, this is the most favorite anime series I have watched.
This got released in 2010 and is famous even now with many series telecast by different teams and there are many movies as well based on this Rudyard Kipling's book, but it still remains the interesting one.
This is all about a boy called Mowgli who as a new born, gets lost from his parents in a jungle and was brought up by animals such as wolves, Beer, Cheetah and Elephants and the story continues..
Other prominent Indian anime series:
Kids of this generation have the privilege to watch n number of Indian and produced in India anime series like Chota Bheem, Shiva, kisna, keymon Ache, Motu Patlu among those and in between, there was the famous Shaktimaan just like Spiderman, Superman and all.
My 8 year and soon to be 3 year old sons keep watching Shiva, Motu Patlu and even good old Ninja Hattori along with few others like Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig and it's a joy watching them watching the series and enjoying those.
Cartoons, anime series are something even the elders keep watching along with the kids and those series are soothing to everyone and keeps us fresh from our routine busy schedule and there is no shame to watch such series even as elders, isn't it?
I would like to thank @OCD and Community of The Anime Realm (https://peakd.com/c/hive-158489/created) for this opportunity to refresh our memories about the anime we watched.
Thanks to all of you who have gone thru this blog and appreciate the details I shared and supported me thru upvotes and comments with suggestions.
Wishing Wonderful Tuesday n good week ahead :)

Who does not like Jungle Book? Really a good one. Also, I am aware of Tenali Rama episodes. Not only the anime version but even the non-animated version. Nice to touch base with the past from India. :)
P.S.: Why is your article showing as muted? I don't see any downvotes, so what is the reason?
Oh I am very happy that someone is aware of the animation series I mentioned :)
Happy that you even watched Tenali Rama, it's one of the oldest ones and my favorite bed time stories during my childhood. Naughty yet witty was the minister Rama :)
Hmm, it seems the series I included are not considered as anime and hence, muted by Anime community. I had to create a new one with all those Japanese anime like Pokemon and all and hoping it to be considered this time.
Thanks for stopping by, I am really happy to know you and about your interests :)
Have a good day :)
Yeah, anime by definition is Japanese animation. Maybe, that's where the confusion was. :)
