Yes, i am happy to be Alive.
It's Friday, had a good day at office. Work was not hectic.
Afternoon, had lunch with few friends, after a very long time.
After lunch, did manage to do few of my tasks at work
Evening, i did my remaining actifit steps, completing 5000+ steps for the day.
A good day so far.

Today was a good day at listopia, 6 occupants today including the host clicktrackprofit.
I did surf at all the 6 sites and found luke. But had to verify only 5 sites to complete the hunt

TE Rant

I am starting a new section called TE Rant, where i will highlight the good, bad and annoying things on Traffic exchanges.
NOTE: My comments is this section are not to offend any TE owners, it just what i see and can be improved.

Today we start with the annoying one i.e., frame breakers while surfing.
Firstly, it is very annoying when a splash/LCP/mainsite pages break the frame and get loaded on the same tab.
TE sites have implemented a way to report the frame breaking sites.
But most of the sites it doesn't work as intended or give options that are difficult to interpret for a user using the sites

let me give you a example, say TE XXX
while surfing the TE XXX, a page breaks the frame and loads itself on the same tab, on which i was surfing.
I click on backarrow <- on the browser, to go to the previous page

scenario 1
It goes to the previous page, but it breaks again, as it loads the same site again.
i do it multiple times, and i end up on a login page, or i have to close and open a new tab to login again.
So there is no way to know the site details and report them back.

scenario 2 - some TE sites have implemented
It goes to the previous page, it shows me a list of sites, and ask the user to select the one that break the frame.
In most cases, it is confusing, and people often select the last one seen, which is not 100% correct.
As some sites, do multiple redirects and the page shown is totally different

So, now to the question, on how do we solve this.
I thought of a few ideas which may work or have already thought but not implemented for some reason (technical or financial).

option 1 - TE records the page breaking site automatically
Implement some logic to detect page breakers and record them in a log/db and deactivate them automatically.
Later the admin can go through it and reactivate if done wrongly
This will eliminate the input needed from the user, which improves the user experience
We also need to cater to the sites that prompt for action to be taken by the user, which is also bad for TE surfing experience

option 2 - load page breaking sites, on a different tab or totally suppress page break redirects.
Implement some logic, to load the frame breaking page on a new tab/window instead of on the same tab
Another way is to completely block redirecting in the frame.

Some thought has still to be put in on how it can be implemented.
This will surely improve the user experience.

PS - I truely appreciate that the TE owners, do frame breaker tests when the sites are added/edited.

Great rant Farhad, and a real problem on some sites, one site that do check every site before it gets activated is LeadsLeap and I have never seen a frame break there, and in TrafficAdBar they have a script that automatically see's any site breaking frames while in rotation.

Yes, in LeadsLeap, it shows you a prompt to open the site, if you have no-popup setting on. But it doesn't break, you can continue by selecting another site.
I agree, I have not seen page breakers in TrafficAdBar.
They both have custom design.

Yeah it's really laziness from LFMTE I think, these regular owners don't have the skill to code any of that, one more thing is that you can't select what page you want to see next, in both LeadsLeap and TrafficAdBar YOU choose what site you want to see next based on the ads you see, plus LeadsLeap even allow you to rate them too.

Good idea Farhad, this will spice up your post very nicely. With frame breakers, pretty much all TE's have site checkers but if you use a tracking URL then after the site is checked it is possible to go and change the site in the tracker. That is part of the reason some TE's don't allow trackers. I don't know why people want to promote frame breaking sites but for some reason the do. Keep crushing it my friend.

Hello @Imfarhad - Great Rant

As a TE owner, I check all sites submitted by free members, they have to be manually approved, also if you log out and then start surfing again, you can still report the site, the owner can look at the log and see which site you surfed before getting logged out.

Also its not always the page that is breaking frame , but a banner can also trigger jumping out of site

I also manually approve all banners, for free members only, I must admit that Upgraded members ads get automatically approved and that is probably a flaw in my system,

I like to see people speak of what they experience at TE's it allows owners to improve

Yes, but 90% of the time user is not aware on what site broke the frame.
Many of them just surf to accumulate site hits as fast as they can, so that there site can be promoted.
Also, nowadays people surf 7 to 8 sites simultaneously. I did 10 during CTP surf contest.

I'm not doing lately the Scavenger Hunt, but I do remember that frame-breakers were the biggest problem in TE industry... and I do understand that it is hard to cope with them, but the damage can be reduced if TE owners are more active in removing them...

I really like this new TE rant section you have started. And believe me, I relate to the frame breakers. They would frustrate me to no end.

I don't surf TEs like I used to but I do like your suggestions for solutions. The 1st one is probably the best out of the 2...but as you said, it depends on how one can implement it, etc.

Thanks for sharing your insights. It was refreshing to read something different in the Luke Is Alive posts :)

Great rant. Like so many others, i do not like framebreakers or popups etc while surfing. As an owner i do try my best to keep surf clean from those.

Farhad, This is a Awesome Rant about Frame Breakers, and Yes I am a TE Owner and have to go and check site each week to make sure and look for things like this. That is one reason we have the Report site button, But i get what you are saying if you try to go back and get logged out and have to login again. It can be a pain because what if the next page is one of the games or a badge that you are looking for and when you start to surf it does not load correctly and lose it.
