#LukeIsAlive Contest.

Since i have found luke 100 times, i will now stop counting :-)

Today at listopia, there were only 4 participating TE (including clicktrackprofit).

I started my hunt at bootscootintraffic, surfed 44 pages and found luke, followed the instructions and went to cupoftraffic.
On cupofTraffic i surfed 47+ pages and found luke, again followed the instructions and went to cruisinxchange.
On cruisinxchange, i surfed 80 pages and found luke.
I was sent back to bootscootintraffic, surfed 45+ more pages to find luke again.
Finally, i was send to clicktrackprofit, went to the gauntlet and viewed the 20 pages and finished the hunt

Got CTP badges at cupoftraffic, bootscootintraffic and cruisinxchange.

TE Rant - Episode 4

This is episode 4 of TE Rant
My comments is this section are not to offend any TE owners, it just what i see and may be improved.

Today we talk about Surfing on TE
Note: TE = Traffic Exchange

TE Surfing is basically the heart of the traffic exchange.
The place where members can earn credits viewing other member sites and also showcase there own sites.
Splash pages/ LCP / generic affiliate page/ signup offers/ bonus offers are some of the pages which you can see while surfing on TE.

Below is the sample of the TE Surf Screen.

You can see that it has 3 frames / sections - defined as Top, middle & bottom by me.

Top section - contains the timer, page validation images, banners,text ads, member name & image, menus, rankings etc.
Some of the sites also display offer icons / bonus surf icons or percentage etc.

Middle section - contains the member pages and the chat window. The user can chat with other members while surfing.

Bottom section - contains the no of pages surfed, no of views earned. Letter game etc.

So how does it work?

Once you click on the surf button on the home page the user is taken to the TE surf webpage.
On the top section, you will see a countdown timer.
The member page will be shown in the middle section.
The timer count may vary based on the Traffic exchange and the membership level (free or upgrade).
The user has to wait for the timer to finish and then select the matching image to validate. This is to ensure that you are a real person viewing and not a bot.
If the validation is correct, the user will get surf credits based on his membership level.
A new member page is shown and the timer starts again, this continues till the user decides to exit the TE

While surfing, the user can collect CTP badges, play letter games. Different types of games are implemented by most of the TE.

Bonus credits/banners/text ads are also been awarded while surfing.

TE owners also have daily/weekly/monthly competitions, for example, most pages surf for the day.

Cross promotions are also done between TE sites, to encourage more surfing.

I like surfing on Traffic exchanges, they help me promote my pages and build my list.

Most of the TE have standard designs as shown in the sample image. But some traffic exchanges have customised designs which are more user friendly.

There is one problem with chat window, which i have noticed is that it doesn't allow you to close, if you are not signed up for chat.
Ideally, my existing credentials should be sufficient, why do i need to signup again?
I think it is just a setup issue which can be fixed easily. [not a big deal tho.]

I don't like videos which auto start and play. I know there are settings provided by many te sites, to stop it.
But, I have my own way. As i do group surfing, i just mute the tab, one by one as i hear it :-)

I do group surfing. You may ask what is that?

It means, i surf more that one TE at a time.
In LukeisAlive contest you have to find luke at 5 different sites.
So, what i do is open all the participating sites on different tabs on the browser and surf on all of them
which helps me to optimise my time spend on surfing and finding Luke.
Note: You still need to be actively watching the sites while surfing or you may miss the luke page :-)

Members can promote any website on the TE provided they adhere to the rules (no frame breakers or popups)
If you are building your list then use splash pages or Lead capture pages.
