▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Hi there and welcome to my vlog, my name is Erik Gustafsson and I go by the handle @flaxz on 3speak, CTPtalk and Hive.

How To - Publish Videos - On 3speak

In this video I talk about making videos and to publish them on 3speak, and how to do all that.

I go through how to record the video using a smartphone, and a few things to think about.

Then I talk about how to create a 3speak account and linking that to your Hive account.

And I go through how to upload and publish a video on 3speak, and some things to think about when doing that.

Watch the video to get more details.

I Am Alive - Day 156

It is now my day 156 for the #IAmAliveChallenge, and you can read how it started and how to join in this guide, I Am Alive Challenge - The Guide.

This is all about celebrating that you are alive despite the hard times we now live in, and to share that with the world and the Hive blockchain, you are alive, and that matters.

We Are Alive!

Enjoy Watching The Video!

Ha ha ha you mentioned the gimbal @ph1102 got .... the Canadian postal service is AWESOME (no offense @jongolson)! I think Zoltan was thrilled to get it finally lol. I don't have one but may invest in one in the future.

I like varying up my videos, but usually prefer to do them on my laptop through the software I have. I try to do the phone ones & always forget to look in the camera or almost drop the phone. HA HA.

Great video, Erik. I like the tutorials you've been doing! Keep being awesome ;)

I like the idea of using a gimbal too, but... I also make most of my videos on my laptop. But a gimbal would be a big help when making videos on the go...

Yeah absolutely. I have had my eye on a few for future purchase and even a small ring light. Nothing too fancy but enough to balance out the natural lighting. My Amazon wishlist is pretty extensive ha ha. :)

Thanks a lot Pixie, yeah the looking into the camera us a work in progress for me too lol, but it's very easy to record with the phone, and I do all my editing there too, stay awesome.

I always use the Mobile to record the video with tripod...
The very first problem I faced was the large size of the video which takes to much time during the uploading... then I searched one app on play store and start compressing the video before uploading, which was very effective...
Thanks for sharing...

Thanks man, yeah a tripod is great, especially if you are indoors and recording, and nice that you found a good app for compressing, I do all that when I edit my video with YouCut and I save it with 480p resolution and High Quality, that way it's small and good enough for what I publish.

I will try te app you mentioned....
I am using the Video Panda Compress & Share...
It compress the file every without charging the resolution....

Yeah you can select whatever compression level you want in YouCut, and also whatever resolution you want, the reason I go with 480p and no compression is that I have found that to work best when publishing it to get the size down without compromising the quality too much, high resolution and a lot of compression actually looks much worse in my experience, but do your own testing, in YouCut compression is marked as quality.

Thanks for the mention... Yes, I bought gimbal, and paid it with HIVE! hehehe

As you are doing your video steady (still), there is no need for gimbal... Also, people who are doing their videos at home, can use a tripod, or just "fix" the phone on the table...

I'm doing my while I'm walking, and I got a couple of complaints about shaking... So, it's a bit better with gimbal... ;)

3Speak works much better than before, and it's definitely my favorite video platform at the moment!

I didn't know @jongolson was selling gimbals! I was wondering how you bought one with Hive. I thought you may have exchanged Hive for dollars or something... but then I watched the video and it all made sense!

Jon decided to go all-in-home, so he doesn't need gimbal anymore... It travelled along the seven seas for around 3 months from the land of far-far Canada to Europe... lol... :)

Thanks a lot Zoltan, yeah I have been thinking about a gimbal a few times, but holding it in my hand works fine and I don't have to carry around a gimbal all the time lol, for you with walking that more or less requires a gimbal though.

I don't have to carry around a gimbal all the time

Actually, that can be a problem... It's not that small... lol... But, I manage somehow to carry it with me... The autumn and winter are coming, and I don't know how will this mic on "our phones" work out... Thinking about the external, but you said that you didn't have good results with it... So, still thinking about that possibility...

Yeah the big problem with that microphone that I used was that it was a directional microphone that I mounted on the phone, if you instead go with an omnidirectional microphone that you attach to your clothes you will get better results, I have one of those too, but it's too cheap ($15) to pick up the sound corretly when I turn my head lol, so if you go with one that is around $50 instead that would more likely give a better result, just note that you do need that fake fur cover too which adds another $30 to take away the wind noise.

Thanks for tips... I will see how it goes this autumn/winter... I'm not really in more investing at the moment :)

Great video thanks Erik, some really relevant and useful info in there for us!

I've got a Gimbal on my wishlist too- but not for selfies, for making movies with zero funding in tight spaces.....(My arm's too short...🤣)

Thanks Leesa, well if the arm is too short you might need a gimbal just for that lol, and do start making videos it's fun and gets you better connected with people following you.

Yeah and I will, just not of me waffling on, but I do intend to upload other videos that I made with others a few years back.

Videos with locally and globally important content. Archival broadcast programs that used to get 50-60k views on analogue tv on our community station here and content that is still so relevant today.

I do have plans to be on Hive and 3speak for a while to come Erik, but I've a few more priorities to finish first, so just watch this space! Lol...😀

Well start with creating your 3speak account and link it to your Hive account if you have not done that already, that way you are ready whenever you go.

Good tips on using 3speak Erik. It has been working fairly well lately so I have been finally using it. I would rather use 3speak all the time but they have had some issure, it's good to see things working better.
