Teleworking in Venezuela - We Are Alive IAAC #79 - August 02, 2021

Hello friends of Hive and the We Are Alive Tribe community, a day with rain showers and a maximum of 26ºC in my town, starting the week with a good start to finish my projects if circumstances allow me to do so.
The constant power and connection failures complicate teleworking in Venezuela, at a time when many still cling to that option to protect themselves from the pandemic and hyperinflation we are living.
The poor state of public services limits telecommuting, those who must connect to the Internet from their homes, including me, waste hours dealing with power outages and a precarious Internet speed, which is among the worst in the continent and the world, Venezuela is the country with the slowest Internet in Latin America. Even Cuba may have better bandwidth than Venezuela.
This limits me a lot to be more active in the community and have a better participation in all the platforms to which I belong, just last month I had three internet cuts in my home, these cuts can last for weeks, definitely this way you can not work.
I am alive, hoping that someday public services and telecommunications will improve in my country. Thank you for your support.

I am glad you work still allows you to telecommute. Most companies here are wanting their workers to come back in the office.

Is the Internet problem all over Venezuela or in your area only?
In Bangladesh, especially in the urban areas, we have good Internet speed, both mobile Internet and broadband.
In the rural areas, mostly mobile Internet but not a good speed.

Hope that your Internet connection improves.

In almost all of Venezuela there are problems, especially with the speed, in the town where I live it is worse because of the distance to the capital, there is a project to put fiber optics but the problem is with vandalism because the lines are stolen.

It’s unfortunate that things are this bad but I’m happy that you still persist and have found a way to make posts even though things are difficult. I do hope things get better soon so you can enjoy good internet to make posts. Stay safe

I can hardly stay few hours without internet. I can feel you @edgerik
First i think they need to sort out the power shortages, then only internet can be made available
Don't lose hope, things will change in your country.

take care and stay safe

Oh dear friend. I was once in this kind of situation years back.
Back then, I climb trees to receive 2g network service and it was not funny at all. I note down whatever I wish to do before searching for network. Now, the story is far different. We now have strong 4g network providers begging you to use their network, even individuals host WiFi networks and make it free for people to use.
Why am telling this story to you is to encourage you that no condition is permanent.
It'll all be better one day.
Have a great day

Thank you for your comment, if here in my country there were not so much government interference, private telecommunications companies would provide a better service, but in these authoritarian regimes this does not suit them, hence the current problems.

It's very discouraging.
I know that your country has mineral resources that can sustain everyone. Why all the hardship infestation?
Maybe, it's because of the dollar dependants.
Sorry for the situation you've found yourself.
It will all be okay one day.

It is very unfortunate that a country so rich in minerals is going through this situation, the problem has been the governments that have not known how to manage these resources, today we have an authoritarian government that only cares about enriching themselves and the people suffering the consequences.

Yes, it is very stressful these days to live without internet, you get used to technology and then you can't live without it. Thanks for the comment and stay alive.
