Social media era
News travel fast round the globe through the work of social media.
Social media according to a dictionary meaning is the websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. Social media is not limited to trained personnel, so far you have your phone or personal computer , people just go online to publish what they feel its right and wrong.
The way many people use social media to portray a good work, Social media can also be used in a wrong way or abused, when an unpleasant event trend fast on the online platform. Bad news tend to trend faster than the good ones, journalists or people generally prefer to broadcast happenings that are bizarre .
Different kind of bad happenings that happen that people feels it's okay to put on social media for people to be aware of. Such is a case of a mother who snapped with her son naked saying because she had so much pain and she was naked when she gave birth to the child.
All the way from Ghana, the picture went viral on social media and it got to Nigeria and many other countries as people were criticizing the woman for what she did.
We live in a country or world at large where everyone thinks he or she can act without been questioned and penalized.
Being in the 21st century does not mean it should be taken for granted. People act asif they have the right to do whatever pleases them
We operate in democratic system of Government where we have rules and laws guiding us, i was reading through recent happenings days back and i saw that she has been sentenced to 90days imprisonment just to caution young mothers who are eager to showcase their motherhood and to remind the people that still operate according to the laws of the country.
Before the existence of social media, people had a sense of humor, being ashamed of their nakedness and things that are related to that, but now it feels like the norms.
Which one do you think is better, before when there was no social benefits like getting job opportunities online, getting instant information from the present events worldwide and so on.
And now when there's social media, when all kind of news that trend fast, and most of the news that come from the developing countries are that of bad report cl around the globe which most times reduce the reputation of developing countries
Be careful of what you put online because it can literally decide who and what you become in life.

It is very disheartening especially when what most people do is unheard of
I think that this social networks and I mean web 2.0 got out of control since 2012 when the algorithms began to work on the basis of collecting more and more data that were later called recognition points. Right there was the breaking point and we lost all course towards a seemingly eternal utopia!

The social media’s posts these days are nothing to write home about from all sort of illicit videos and challenges that are unreasonable.
Tbh the media has done more harm than good and I believe this is because they are being controlled by the elite to use as a tool in manipulating the unaware masses of what’s really going on/happening.
This is why we have a decentralized media(Hive)now, to help create a place where there’s freedom of speech
With time, people will get to know more about the decentralized media, reduce the way they misuse social media and refuse to be used as a machinery to manipulate unaware masses

The social media is a reflection of the people using it, no one will argue that we have more bad people on earth and the good ones, this is why the bad on social media will always surpass the good.
But I have noticed that, here on a decentralized media, people have the freedom to speak, but everything goes in other, because there are rewards for every action. Knowing that you get rewarded by the crowd for your good deeds and you can also be downvoted by anyone for dad deeds has been able to keep everyone watching their steps
For example I pity those that share their nudes on social media,they do not know the damage it can cause to their reputation in the future....
That's true, they don't think of the future, just for the fun and to follow the particular trend going on is what they think of

The social media is not a bad thing if I would say, it is how you use it that matters the most.
Is just like a gun, it can be used to protect people, it can also be used to harm people.
