My 1st Month in Hive. Keepings Friends Close In Our Brains and Heart
Hi!
I want to tell you a few ideas about friendship today and how our brain thinks about that, in a very subjective manner :)
👉 For a long time, I claimed that I was not a good friend. That it just didn't work out for me, it seemed too complicated and I thought that my selfishness was too great to be able to maintain a relationship like this, and in me, there was a battle between two parties, just as strong:
🙋 On the one hand, it seemed normal to have my time and space, to offer as much as I could, and to say "No!" to the things I didn't want to do.
And on the other hand, I felt guilty every time I refused to see a friend or needed a little space.
The point is that I consoled myself with the thought that I can be anything but a good friend, so let everyone leave me alone, especially since I wasn't going to change anyway - and not out of pride, but because of the friendship in the eyes of some seemed torturous to me. Out of 100% of my friends, I only spent time with 5%.
So I was content to have some good relationships, which did not need to be maintained but flowed by themselves, respecting each other's freedom and sincerity.
For me, not only the hard moments to measure a true friend are relevant, but also happy moments.
FRIENDSHIP IS A STATE
You carry the people you love with you wherever you go, regardless of distance, time, space. And no matter how many other people have entered your soul along the way, new relationships do not detract from the importance of your people for a long time, but quite the opposite. As long as the closeness of soul was/is real, you feel them and you know what “binds” you, brings them closer, it will always bring you back together.
Space is not separation!
You know the quality of the relationship, you recognize its significance and what fills you with it, so you don't necessarily need to confirm your importance in the other person's life or physical closeness. You accept when it happens for various reasons, that a distance appears between you because you realize that it is only an apparent distance and you respect the choices, the time, the freedom of the other.
Re-connect when you feel. Not as a MUST.
A friendship that MUST be maintained (through phones, messages, likes, meetings, no matter the period, context, changes in everyone's life) just for your peace, is worth nothing and has never been a level link of the essence.

When the connection is real, if you don't see the person for a while, it's just like he's there for you (and in a way he is). Souls (re) meet every time.

Thank you so much for sharing. It was a great post that I can definitely relate too!
As an introvert myself I have a hard time maintaining what extroverts call a friendship but what I have noticed is that introverts just have a completely different classification system for these people in our lives.
You're so right, @rilo :)
