Focus!

Today I would like to reflect on focus.

I believe I've never been in such a good time in my life before, not only because things are working out personally and professionally, but because of the feeling of inner peace I've been feeling.

I was always a very chaotic person, without routine, discipline or planning. I lived on the basis of wild ideas and momentary satisfactions, I let life take me wherever it wanted, like a boat adrift at sea, and I ended up reaching where many would consider rock bottom. Including myself.

I've always lived with a lot of fear, fear of bad things happening, fear of people, fear of situations and relationships.

I believe this started in my childhood some traumas like the relationship and the constant fights that my parents had daily made me become like that. I once heard a psychologist say on a podcast that: "when parents constantly fight in front of a child, the impact it has on their brain is the same as it has on a soldier in a war." The explanation said that when the parents fight the child feels that his whole world is falling apart and at any moment it could all end, much like the feeling of constant threat that exists in a war where at any moment you can die.

This fear and constant conflict led me to become a very rebellious person, not only in the sense of disobeying rules but also not being able to cooperate with other people.

Cooperation for me would always end in betrayal or disappointment any relationship in my view would be doomed to failure, so was my parents' marriage.

So if everything can end tomorrow, why focus on the future?

The point is that time has passed and this is not over, the end of the world did not come in 2012, in 2016 or 2020. We are still here. of course not all, but I'm talking to you who are still here, because "the dead don't read".

I know many of you may have lost people over time, I understand that last year my father passed away. But if it's any consolation, we'll all leave too one day, the cycle of life is a beginning, a middle and an end. and at that point I think the focus issue fits.

Focusing on achieving a goal is not just about getting to the end point, it's about the little things and goals that need to be accomplished daily to achieve that goal, and when you get there, you'll be satisfied with the victory, but soon you'll want another thing. a new goal a new goal, and some might confuse that with greed, and the feeling of never being satisfied... I thought so too, but nowadays I see things differently. Wanting to achieve different or bigger and bigger goals is not greed, it's the natural desire to stay alive, it's that passion, sparkle in the eye that inspires and delights others around you. after all, when an animal is satisfied it sleeps.

And life in biological terms also works like this, any form of life from the simplest to the most complex, is always in constant motion looking for a way to perpetuate itself, adapting to give continuity to its species. survive that would be the word.

And comparing survival in the complex social world we have today, I believe a point of comparison would be the search for results, and goal resolution. It is natural to admire people who achieve results, which if observed in isolation seem impossible, but when you look at the entire context and background of that person, it seems that the story could not be different. but the truth is that there was, unless you believe in a predestined destiny then I don't think there is much to reflect on from here... But for those who do not believe or are willing to continue the reasoning, I would like to say a few things about.

Many people seem to fail, most of them seem to reach the end of their life cycle without having really enjoyed their time here, frustrated and afraid.

"Don't be afraid of death because it comes to everyone, be afraid that this day will come and the path will not be worth it"

So don't be afraid of failing, you will, don't be afraid of failing you will, just don't be afraid!

Have respect for yourself and others, have respect for relationships, and seek principles and virtues to guide you on the path, seek knowledge and wisdom and so you will never be defeated, or you win, or you learn.

And to finish this brief reflection on focus, I think it's worth quoting a biblical passage for focused people, who are not let down by momentary defeats and who continue in their defined purpose.

"A thousand will fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right, but you will not be hit."

And so I close this little text, Have a good night a big hug and tomorrow the sun will rise again.
