Alternative title: How I made fair exchanges and paid my debts.

"Paulo, I can't believe you decided to appeal to a clickbait like that"

Well, in some way the title is not clickbait, I will explain.

A few months ago, I had to buy a monitor stand, because it was very bad to study programming just using the laptop screen, and since I have an old monitor, I wanted to use it, and to work it out I would need a stand.

As I had some jobs practically going on, I took my credit card, did the math, and bought one, after all, the value of the stand would be just a little over R$ 300.00 (three hundred reais), which is around $ 62 .00 (sixty-two dollars), and I would get money with the works I will do, and with time I will have a lot more work to earn more money and pay the bills. This is what I think will happen.

However, the person who was going to hire me for a job was infected with covid (for the second time), ended up being hospitalized, having to spend on medication, in addition to having to cancel jobs she has to do, so, she have no money to pay me (I would make a website for her to better publicize her work). Or maybe she lied, after all, there is no pandemic or covid, and she was hospitalized and everything else for sport, who knows right? The point is that in the end, the job is gone.

In addition, another job that I was going to start, teaching programming in my neighbourhood(in the poor side of the city) was paused because the number of deaths by covid in my country increased a lot, going to over 2000 and reaching more than 3000 daily deaths. Well, this is what the news and institutes say, maybe no one died of a covid either, the government and other parts just lied to harm everyone, and the relatives of my friends who died during those months died of other things. Who am I to know, right? So many more knowledgeable people(they say that they are knowledgeable, they watch videos and read blogs, wow) than me are saying that the covid pandemic is bullshit, maybe they are right, and I don’t know what is going on...

Well...

Another job I was doing, for a local startup, also stop because the main investor decided to focus on food donation instead of investing in a business.

So in the end, without a job, without an income, after all, without money, because the last few months I have been dedicating myself to studying programming again and I have no steady job, I am just doing freelancer, and this it's not working then, I was unable to pay the bill of the credit card (and other things).

And then months go by, me trying to find other jobs and nothing. And the debts accumulating, the bank sending email and calling every day, other people asking when I would pay for their service, and I got no temporary work that would allow me to study as well.

Until I decided to go back to the decentralized networks and discovered POB thanks to @vempromundo, so I started posting texts, received a prize from a challenge from @fireguardian, and got a few hundred POB’s.

Yesterday, after receiving another call from the bank this week, and a few more messages from people that I was in debt (the message was not aggressive, but knowing that I would not be able to pay them so soon is a sad thing), I decided to sell my pobs.

I sold, made the conversions, paid the bank, paid the people, and there was still some money left. Does that mean that I owe no one else? No, but it has already made me more relieved and I will no longer waste time deleting the bank's e-mails, or failing to answer the calls.

This is nice, this is good.

And the loan shark? He does not exist. Here in Brazil, we say that we must pay a loan shark when we need to pay the bills and we have no money. It's a joke. Although there are people who owe to loan sharks. I do not recommend it.

Well, later, talking about all that happened to a friend, after explaining how I made posts, how I received POBS, paid the bills, and such, he made questions that I always hear when I talk about decentralized networks:

“But how did it happen? Where do these coins come from? How do people pay you? How do you sell the coins?”

It’s always sound like that what they really want to say is:

“You forced other people to upvote your posts? Did you force poor people to buy the crypto? You put a gun in their faces, I KNOW IT, YOU ARE A CRIMINAL, YOU FILTHY BEAST!!”

And things always happen like this. The questions are usually in a skeptical, doubtful, and sarcastic tone. Since 2017 hearing this from several people.

Well, I replied calmly to my friend, but if it were someone else I would have answered: ”Yes, I confess, I threatened people and their families to give me upvotes, and I threatened others to buy the POB I wanted to sell!! Obvious I did that, and I like that!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA”

Anyways.

It is unfortunate to see how many people do not understand and do not want to understand how crypts work. It seems that it is not possible for them to in the crypto community that we could have a consensual and fair exchange relationship as if someone only wins when someone else loses. As if consensual and fair exchanges don’t exist in other areas of society too, then, how can it happens in crypto, it’s impossible. Right? Hah!

Seeing these reactions sometimes makes me want to say several other things, such as:

I don't force, I don't need to and even if I could I wouldn't force anyone to upvote positively on my posts. I avoid posting content that forcedly appeals to people to vote for me as much as possible (it is not a criticism of those who really need it and asks for support, due to illness, country situation, etc.). I only say that if those who read like it, they can upvote if they want and can. And I don't know anyone who has lost something by upvoting on my posts.

I don't force, I never did and I won't force anyone to buy any cryptocurrency from me. I ask for a price that I consider fair and the people that want to buy pay if they can and desire, nor do I claim the price that other people ask for crypto is expensive, I respect the price they put in their coin, and if I can, I buy. Yesterday, when I went to sell my pobs, I asked for 1.9 hives each, I knew that not everyone would want to pay, but I made my offer, and some people accepted it, because they could because they thought it was fair and because they wanted to it. I didn't threaten anyone, I didn't have to beg anyone, I didn't force anyone. I don't even know the people who bought them (but if you're one of the buyers and you are reading this, thank you).

This is the magic of crypto.

Obviously, in the crypto world, we have charlatans, blackmailers, speculators, appellants and whiners, liars, scammers, and other sinister and nefarious beings. But these people are not just in the crypto, they are everywhere.

But in opposition to these people, we have generous people, serious people, people committed to creating and supporting healthy communities, people committed to creating and supporting quality content. People committed to investing in a better future, and it is by, with, and only if we seek to be one of those people that we can build a better crypto world.

And every day that goes by I am more and more convinced that we must focus on the positive things, and we don’t need to be concerned with ignorant people who do not seek knowledge.

Titulo: Forcei pessoas a votarem em mim e comprarem minhas pobs para que eu pudesse pagar meu agiota.

Titulo alternativo: Como fiz trocas justas e paguei minhas dívidas.

Bem, de certa forma o título não é um clickbait, explico.

Há alguns meses atrás, precisei comprar um suporte de monitor, porque para estudar programação estava muito ruim só usar a tela do notebook, e como tenho um monitor antigo aqui, queria usá-lo, e para dar certo precisaria de um suporte.

Como eu estava com alguns trabalhos praticamente fechados, peguei o cartão de crédito, fiz as contas e comprei, afinal, o valor do suporte seria de pouco mais de R$ 300,00(trezentos reais), o que dá por volta de $ 62,00(sessenta e dois dolares), e eu receberia bem mais no trabalho.

Porém, a pessoa que ia me contratar pegou covid(pela segunda vez), acabou sendo internada, tendo que gastar com remédios, além de que teve que cancelar trabalhos(eu faria um site para ela divulgar melhor os trabalhos dela). Ou talvez ela tenha mentido, afinal, não existe pandemia e nem covid, e ficou internada e tudo mais por esporte, quem sabe né? A questão é que no fim eu fiquei sem esse trabalho.

Além disso, outro trabalho que eu ia iniciar, de ensino de programação modo presencial foi pausado porque o número de mortes por covid aumentou muito, indo para mais de 2000 mortes diárias. Talvez também não morreu ninguém de covid, o governo só mentiu para prejudicar todo mundo, e os parentes dos meus amigos que morreram por esses meses, morreram de outras coisas. Quem sou eu para saber né? Tanta gente mais entendida do que eu dizendo tanta coisa.

Outro trabalho que estava realizando, para uma startup, também não teve continuidade porque o investidor principal resolveu focar em doação de alimentos em vez de investir em negócios.

Então no fim me vi sem trabalho, sem renda, afinal, os últimos meses tenho me dedicado a voltar a estudar programação e não tenho emprego fixo, só estou fazendo freelas. E por causa disso não consegui pagar o cartão(e outras coisas).

Aí entrou mês, passou mês, eu tentando procurar outros trabalhos e nada. E as dívidas acumulando, o banco do cartão mandando email e ligando todo dia, outras pessoas perguntando quando eu pagaria pelo serviço delas, e nada de surgir algum trabalho temporário que permitisse que eu estudasse também.

Até que decidi voltar para as redes descentralizadas, e descobri a POB graças ao @vempromundo, comecei a postar textos, recebi um prêmio de um desafio do @fireguardian, e consegui algumas centenas de POBS.

Ontem, depois de nessa semana várias ligações do banco, e mais algumas mensagens de pessoas que contrato serviços(a mensagem não era agressiva, mas saber que não conseguiria pagar tão cedo é algo triste), resolvi vender meus POBS.

Vendi, fiz as conversões, paguei o banco, paguei as pessoas, e ainda sobrou um dinheiro. Isso significa que não devo mais ninguém? Não, mas já me deixou mais aliviado e não vou mais perder tempo excluindo email do banco, ou deixando de atender ligação.

E o agiota? Ele não existe. Aqui no Brasil falamos que devemos prum agiota quando precisamos pagar as contas e estamos sem dinheiro. É uma brincadeira. Apesar que tem pessoas que devem para agiotas. Não recomendo.

Mais tarde, falando sobre tudo isso que aconteceu com um amigo, depois de explicar como fiz posts, recebi POBS, paguei as contas, ouvi as perguntas que sempre ouço quando falo de redes descentralizadas:

“Mas como isso aconteceu? De onde vem esse dinheiro? Como as pessoas te pagam? Como você vende as moedas?”

E coisas do tipo. Geralmente num tom cético e duvidoso. Desde 2017 ouvindo isso de várias pessoas.

Bem, respondi tranquilo para meu amigo, mas se fosse outra pessoa eu teria respondido: Eu ameacei pessoas e suas familias para que elas me dessem votos, e ameacei outras para comprarem minhas POBS no valor que eu queria vender!! Óbvio!!!

É lamentável ver o quanto as pessoas não entendem e não querem entender como as criptos funcionam. Parece que não é possível que haja uma relação de troca consensual e justa, como se alguém só ganhasse quando outra pessoa perde. Como se isso de trocas consensuais e justas já não acontecesse de diversas outras formas.

As vezes dá vontade de dizer várias coisas, como por exemplo:

Não forço, não preciso e mesmo que pudesse não forçaria ninguém a votar positivamente nos meus posts. Evito ao máximo postar conteúdo que apele para que as pessoas votem em mim(não é uma crítica a quem realmente precisa e pede suporte, por motivo de doença, situação do país, etc.). Só digo que se quem leu e gostou que contribua se quiser e puder. E não conheço ninguém que tenha tido prejuízos votando nos meus posts.

Não forço, nunca forcei e não forçarei ninguém a comprar nenhuma criptomoeda de mim. Peço um preço que considero justo e pague quem quiser, nem reclamo do preço que outras pessoas pedem. Ontem, quando fui vender minhas POBS, pedi por cada uma 1.9 hive, sabia que nem todo mundo iria querer pagar, mas fiz minha oferta, e algumas pessoas aceitaram, porque podiam, porque acharam justo, porque queriam. Não ameacei ninguém, não tive que implorar para ninguém, não forcei ninguém. Nem conheço as pessoas que compraram(mas se estiverem lendo esse texto, grato).

Essa é a magia das criptos.

Obviamente que existem os charlatões, os chantageadores, os especuladores, os apelativos e chorões, os mentirosos, os scammers, e outros seres sinistros e nefastos. Mas essas pessoas não estão só nas criptos.
E em oposição a essas pessoas, temos pessoas generosas, pessoas sérias, pessoas comprometidas em criar e apoiar comunidades saudáveis, pessoas comprometidas em criar e apoiar conteúdo de qualidade. Pessoas comprometidas em investir em um futuro melhor, e é por, com e sendo uma dessas pessoas que devemos continuar construindo um mundo cripto melhor.

E cada vez mais tenho a certeza que devemos focar no positivo e não nos preocuparmos com as pessoas ignorantes que não buscam conhecimento.

Pelo menos é nisso que acredito. E você? No que acredita?
