How POB Prepares For The Growth?

(Edited)

I write this because I care about the future of POB. I am nothing in the community. I hope all the developers and stakeholders will read my post.

Be honest

We should be honest that we are a small community. POB community is getting bigger but it is a very small community in the world of cryptocurrency. We should admit that fact. Another fact is that we need to grow. How do we grow? It depends on us.

My Worry

Reading some posts on the hive, I feel worried about the growth of the hive in the future. It seems more complicated. There are some differences in how members of the hive seeing the reward system. Downvoting and self-voting are enabled on this platform. A group sees that self-voting is good to accumulate rewards. Another group sees that self-voting is the abuse of power. Those two opinions will not reach an agreement.

What happens then? Downvoting and flagging will be. That is very bad. We shout on a centralized social media platform that decentralized is the best. But what is the fact then? How big investors see the situation. One of the big investors is Justin Sun. He saw that the culture is not good then he raped the platform. Instead of giving a solution, he ruined the platform with centralization.

I am writing a sensitive topic among whales in the hive but I do not care. I have freedom as the motto " decentralization". My English is bad too but I have tried to make it better. I know that some of you will disagree with my opinion but it is ok.

When some developers like Leo team and tribal dex focus on the development, the members of the hive still fight and debate about upvoting and downvoting. When will debates end?

Decentralized Governance

Some members have posted this idea. Decentralized governance is to prevent "abuse of power". I am not sure technically. I see the decentralized governance is applied in communities. However, there have not been fixed systems applied in the communities.

When POB has a million active users.

Is it possible? Yes, it is very possible. Can you imagine how tough is the debate with the big community? Rewards, Upvotes, and downvotes have economical benefits. Dislike will not be a big problem on Facebook , Twitter, IG, and other centralized social media because of no economic benefit. In proofofbrain, dislike of downvote will be a problem.

Inflation does not matter when a platform has millions of active users. It will be a problem when there are only a few people who hold most POB tokens on a platform that has a small number of users.

Communities are used to steal the hive liquidity assets from the hive users.

Everyone does not want this scenario to happen on hive platforms. Communities aim to encourage the users in general to grow. The platforms should be welcomed to new users. Not all new users are talented authors and bag holders. Will the platforms only for talented authors? Blockchain tech that gives opportunities to everyone will be limited by a kind of unbreakable rules.

Encouraging, caring, and nurturing will make the platform more friendly to outsiders. There are millions of people who do not know at all about hive and POB. Let them be with us, let them get the same opportunities on this platform. Don't talk about hive, let's start with this small community. How we welcome new users in this platform with decentralized governance that gives assurance of the security of their assets and personality.

Thanks for reading. This topic is too general but I hope you can get a light idea from my post.

Everyone who wants a system (social network) without downvotes, can go to Blurt.
There you will be in heaven.
Happy journey

Thank, for the response, In this post does not mean that downvote should not be enabled but what I worry about if there will be big groups that use the downvote, not because of violations like spamming and plagiarism but downvoting because of different opinions.
I joined another platform, downvote is done because of different political support in a country. In my opinion, downvoting like this is not healthy since downvotes have financial benefits. In hive, the ball of difference in reward system begins to roll.

Reminds me of an old proverb:

You want peace? Then get ready for war (prepare yourself for it)

It is so much TRUE.
Nothing holds back attacker more, than a bigger power against him.

i was having issues recently with some of the things happening on the chain but when I consider the fact that this has been going on for the longest time I tend to focus on other things. hive has defiled so many odds. i don't know if anything can kill it at this point.

I tend to focus on other things

I agree with your statement. Focusing on other things that are positive is better than facing the issue.

Freedom of speech and decentralization does not mean, that you are free of negative feedback. It's absolutely fine to disagree. I personally am in favor of voting your own posts (never comments) as long as you feel, like they bring value to the community and fulfil your own criteria for uvoting. It's not about value it's about honest rewards. Since people often chose articles they read by the amount of POB it got awared already, you're just showing them "Hey guys. Here's something you might want to have a look at."

But I am keeping my eyes open. If I start getting downvotes or I feel like I'm losing upvotes because of this, I'm going to change my behavior. This is not a hill most people want to die on.

that you are free of negative feedback

A different opinion is not negative feedback, that is why there should be agreement on POB among the early stakeholders to describe the negative feedback and disagreement.

You bring up good points, @lebah. There's an Internet 'rule', that a successful community is 10% content creators and 90% consumers. But on Hive etc. everyone is trying to be a creator because that's where the rewards are.

It is still early days yet but I hope pob finds a way to reward the consumers as well. I think that'll make pob a success.

It is still early days

Yes, it is much easier to control. Hive is too big and too complicated but POB is still in the early of growth. It is still possible to control what to be and where to go so the platform will be much more stable in the future.
