How To Live Your Dream

All of us have dreams. We dream about having our own businesses. We dream about being successful authors, or being successful entrepreneurs and making wise investments to live off the passive income we create...

But that's exactly what they are...dreams.

We love to daydream and see ourselves living the "lifestyle of our dreams"...and then we come back to reality and carry on with "real life".

Never is there an attempt to make those dreams a reality.

Setting goals to actually make those dreams come to pass is too much of a commitment. And it's just a dream, because..."I can't see myself like that in reality anyway. I mean...even if I try... What if I don't make it?"

Well, what if you do make it?

Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears. ~ Les Brown

We are so caught up in our fears, thinking about the possibility of failure, and focusing on our "inability" to do what we dream about, that we never build up enough courage to actually do something about it.

We have created this little comfort zone and we are stuck in it. We see ourselves as we are and as we experience life at the moment. That is our reality. Even though the reality of our present circumstances is often filled with doubt, fear, and uncertainty. But that is what we know, that is what we focus on, and that is where we stay.

We are scared that we wouldn't make it. We get caught up in the fact that we don't have enough capital available. We underestimate ourselves by thinking that we don't have what it takes.

Start Living Your Dream

There is a well-known saying that says "fake it 'till you make it".

In one sense it is true, but in general, I think it is often taken out of context.

To a large extent, I think this is also relevant to goal setting and how you set and approach your goals.

I cannot say "I'm a millionaire", and then just start "acting" like a millionaire, thinking that I will make $1 000 000.00 within 6 months by walking around like a rich man, spending money on fancy clothes.

You will quickly realize that you are actually moving in quite the opposite direction.

You can't fake having something.

If you don't have it, you don't have it.

But you can start thinking like a millionaire. You can start learning about investments and savings plans. You can learn about running a business of your own.

In other words, you won't start "faking" it as if you have the benefits already and start spending your hard-earned money yet. You will start "faking it" in the way you think and act. You first need to change your thinking, then your actions will also change.

I cannot spend something I do not have. I cannot use or drive something I do not have. Because those will be benefits of who or what you want to become.

But in my thinking, and in my attitude, I can fake it 'till I make it". I can focus on developing a positive mental attitude. I can start a savings plan. I can start seeing myself (mentally) as being successful and responsible with my finances. I can start creating content. I can start engaging with other people.

Faking it also doesn't mean lying to yourself or anyone else. It is not about creating an impression to make other people think you are something that you are not. It is about changing your own thinking. It's about changing your own attitude towards success and achieving your goals.

Yet, remaining honest about where you are and who you are, will make your progress and your story much more believable and interesting to follow.

You can start by setting your first goal to save and accumulate $100.00. Then $200.00 etc... As you achieve these milestones one after the other, you will start building good successful habits. You will start to feel successful as you successfully achieve one goal after another.

By doing this, you actually start living your dream already, even though you haven't arrived at your ultimate goal yet. Change your thinking, change your behavior, and gradually become the person you want to be.

You don't have to wait until you have achieved your ultimate goal to enjoy it.

No worthwhile goal can be achieved in a day. It takes time. Much of the joy and excitement is actually in the journey towards achieving the goal.

Achieving the goal brings satisfaction and the desire to start working on the next goal.

So, stop living your fears. Because...

Everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear. ~ George Addair

To start living your dream is not to be there by tomorrow. To start living your dream is to start working towards it, one small step at a time, one day at a time.

I have battled with this for a long time...for too long.

I love creating content, but I always thought "who would want to read what I write?"

Since I heard about crypto I wanted to learn more about it and how to invest and manage a profitable crypto portfolio. But I listened to people who told me how risky it is.

But in the time I've been here on the blockchain, I have learned a lot from various community members and by reading posts, watching videos, and listening to podcasts.

I recently watched an excellent video by @ph1102 and got some really valuable information.

Am I going to dream any longer about "if only I could..."?

No, it's time to start living it! Start slowly. Start small. Start with what I have. By not taking unnecessary risks, reading and listening to the advice I get from community members on this platform, what is the worst that can happen?

I have nothing to lose, but lots to gain.

Thank you for reading my post.

I think it all boils down to taking a chance on ourselves and dreams. I understand how that can be difficult for many people but I have been leaving my dream and I don't know any other way to live. it seems scary and sometimes stupid but I would have it no other way. I can't imagine doing any other thing else. I am where I should be.

I totally agree with you.

I am glad to hear that you are living your dream. Well done to you and keep it up. I bet there are a lot of people who envy you, wishing they could say the same...

Thanks for your input. I appreciate it!
