For me it's knowing that multitasking is a lie, it's just rapid switching between tasks and that is going to create inefficiencies so I focus on one task to completion, often with some music that has no words in it to try and remove additional distractions.

Excellent! Music also helps me focus more each time.
Removing any perturbatory factors around, that is a blessing....I can hardly do that with the environment I live in. But we work for a certain working discipline here.
nothing better then when you can just get in the flow :)
