#PixiePost #MindfulMondays #SeekingPerfection

It’s the beginning of a new week & it’s the last full one for November. It is crazy to think this year is almost over & good riddance, as most of us would agree….

The topic of perfection came to mind today when I was reflecting on life & the direction it’s currently taking. Further inspired by a blog post I read by @starstrings01 Start Over Button What Do You Do || Day 21 Of 30 Days Blogging Challenge & his question as to whether we would activate the “start over” button, it led me to think of one of the root concepts that lead us to want to do so…

Perfection is something that affects us all in some form or another … it can be a motivator or it can cripple us...as society conditions us to be “perfect” (whatever that actually is), this has been an underlying conflict for a long time…

In today’s Mindful Monday episode, we talk about perfection & how it affects us. Also, what do we do about changing that perspective for the better?

And yes, there are bloopers in this video as well..don’t miss it ;)

Thank you for your unwavering support in my Mindful Monday series. I hope the videos have helped you & it brings me great joy to have 25 episodes already! Let’s see it go to 50! :)

Hi Jenn liked you Mindful Monday today. For me it hit a little to close to home. I used to get up set if i couldn't get my hair into a pony tail and put up on my head the way I wanted it. I still do get up set if I feel that some one is lying to me. Since my husband passed I really do not put make on any more and what you see is what you get. I remind people that if they ask for my opinion that I am not a nice person and they may not like what they hear. I do enjoy listening to you. I also like the photo on your vlog today. Have a great day.

I can appreciate what you are saying about being upset with appearances not being as perfect as you want them to be (i.e, your ponytail). Many people struggle with little things like that. I truly believe it is due a lot to conditioning through our society & main stream media (advertising, shows, etc.) They condition us to think we aren't enough & have to be a certain way to be socially acceptable. It is sad because that is farthest from the truth. We all have beauty within our imperfections (which makes us beautiful) & we are enough just for being...

I am actually grateful that you are honest with people. Sure, it may not always be what people want to hear, but a lot of the time if they can still be open to it, you can plant the seed to help them improve on themselves. In the process, you probably learn something too. Don't lose that quality. :)

Thank you so much for your valuable comment. :) I appreciate you very much & wish you much happiness. 💚

The problem of my life... lol... Maybe it's written in the star by my birthday, but seeking perfection is my illness :) Always trying to improve things, to make them (and myself) more effective, more productive...

It's interesting that I always had in my surroundings friends who were living to the limits, doing crazy stuff, overeating themselves, or over-drinking, or just doing something 110% of the time... Somehow, I was the kind of balance to them, pulling them to the ground, make things more real, and more acceptable...

Seeking for a perfect balance of things, but still, being the most effective... trying to avoid problems, stress... But, I suppose that I didn't succeed in that... lol... But, it is a life-call, and I should take some things "easier", but, as you said, we are exactly as we suppose to be... :)

Thanks for another awesome Mindful Monday! Like the intro for the video, and the bloopers were also great! :)

Oh, my how do I relate to what you're saying. I am not exempt from this either. I do have moments I am a bit of perfectionist, especially with my video content creation. Editing, for example, takes a lot of my time & while I love it, sometimes I have to remind myself that it is okay not to have it exactly perfect... ;)

Yes, being the balance or the calm in the middle of the storm is something I am too familiar with. I naturally gravitate towards this role for some unknown reason but it's who I am, I guess. I agree, though, that going a little more with the flow & letting go of what we can't control really helps. The imperfections we have can be celebrated & seen as "perfect" in a way because it can lead to amazing gifts or situations in life. The Universe has an interesting way of surprising us sometimes lol....

I am glad you enjoyed the humor as well. I like "balancing" it out - humor is so important AND it's high vibe! :)

Thank you for your amazing kindness & support. It means a lot! 💚

No one is perfect and everyone learns from their mistakes. from my perspective, perfection is what actually satisfies me or I am satisfied off. For example, I am willing to cook a new dish and I want it to be perfect. It's for my own satisfaction not for others. Some people want to satisfy others and they want to be perfect according to the terms and conditions of others. Personally, I feel at some point, an individual loses his/her dignity and becomes something which they are not actually. Nobody can't be perfect so it needs to be balanced. At some point, perfection is good but at a certain level just like changes are good but at a certain level...

I better believe in improving myself rather than being perfect...

I like this. It's for your OWN satisfaction. Yes, this makes sense. When you strive to be your best for YOURSELF, that does change the dynamic. That is actually a good thing as you try to be a better version of yourself each day, even if it's in the smaller things. When we do it for others to get their approval or look for acceptance on the outside, that's then when things start getting toxic.

I agree 100%. Improving ourselves FOR ourselves is a much healthier thing. Sometimes it takes awhile for us to realize that, but when we do, wow, nothing can stop us!

Awesome comment. Thank you so much for watching! 😘💛

I really enjoyed listening to this message...and watching the "bloopers" at the end...lol!

And I just need to say this as well...I can only speak for myself though, but I'm sure many people would agree with me... Here I am, always watching you and thinking about how natural you are in presenting your videos and how good you are at what you do... I always enjoy watching your videos!

We always see the end product of other authors but never see all the hard work and effort behind the scenes.

To join in on what you are saying by just being yourself... I believe it is good to find yourself a good role-model or two in the sense of someone who has already achieved success in the field of your choice. But it is important to only study what that person has done (or is still doing) to achieve success and learn how to perform those actions. But then become the best you that you can be and not a second Sylvester Stallone or Robert Kiyosaki...or whoever your role model might be...

Thank you for sharing this awesome message with us!
