It is a storytime again... I didn't publish videos from this series for a while, and I didn't record any recently, but I found this one in my basement, behind one good old wine... :) Just kidding, the video was recorded a month or more ago, but the message is still valid... As a matter of fact, the message will be valid in the future, and always...

Yes, it is a great thing to have confidence, to have self-esteem, as it can help you a lot when you starting something new, or if you are doing something for a long time... But, there is no person who didn't have doubts in a certain period of life... We all have them... Someone more often, others may be fewer times, but we have them... Doubts can be good, as sometimes we need to take a step back and try to look at the bigger picture... But, doubts can be very bad also, as they can ruin things that we have been building for a long time...

Please check out the video, and maybe you will recognize some things that I have mentioned, and maybe it will help you to deal with doubts next time when you have them...

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

I liked this video and I agree with you. When we start with something new it's often not at the beginning that we start to doubt but when we realize that what we are doing is maybe not working how we expected. I've gone through this very often and I also sometimes gave up because I realised that my idea or project was simply not as good as I thought it was :-)

Yeah... If you are an entrepreneur, these situations are happening more often... lol... Almost like on a daily base... hahahaha...

And of course, we can be wrong from the start, so it's good to have doubts in that view... But, a great idea can be planned wrong, so again, doubt in it can bring some new perspective to the realization...

Thanks for the comment and your time! Appreciate it!

I like your analogy of the soccer team. It is so applicable to what we do by creating content.

Yes, it is a great thing to have confidence, to have self-esteem, as it can help you a lot when you starting something new, or if you are doing something for a long time...

Confidence and self-esteem are essential to achieve success in anything we do. If you lack confidence you have lost the game even before the match started. I enjoy motorsport and remember watching a television program where Sarel van der Merwe was a guest. I have been following his career as a race-driver since I was a young boy. He is in his seventies now and he is still actively involved in the sport.

I remember when they discussed the involvement of sports-psychologists in modern-day sport. He was quite blunt about the fact that he couldn't see the need for any psychologist in motor-racing teams. His response was "why would you need a psychologist to convince you that you want to win? If you don't really want to win, what are you doing there?" He is still very old-school in that sense...lol! Obviously, sports-psychologists do much more than just convincing team members that they want to win. But nonetheless, I like the man and enjoy watching him.

Something I would like to add if I may is the fact that we also need to pay close attention to who we listen to. Using your soccer team again as an example, there is a lot of noise coming from the spectators. And not only spectators sitting in the stands, but out in public.

It is the same with anything we do today. Creating content, trading cryptocurrencies, or whatever. The internet is full of people with comments and advice. And everybody claims to be an expert.

The one moment someone will be so convincing that you need to buy and hold. Five minutes later someone else will be convincing you that you will be more profitable by actively trading.

Again, you need to be confident. And only by being confident you will be able to determine who you can listen to and who to ignore.

Wow! Enough ranting from me! I just enjoyed your post so much I couldn't help it...!

Thank you for sharing this great story with us! Maybe you should dig around some more in that basement of yours...just kidding too...lol!

Thanks for taking the time to write this awesome comment...

"why would you need a psychologist to convince you that you want to win? If you don't really want to win, what are you doing there?"

I don't know if you have watched the documentary Fastest? There is one (or two) similar movies, but I think that in this specific it was about Casey Stoner and his crying in the boxes... And all other things that are happening in the head of the pilots... It's definitely more about psychology than fitness or even skill... If you didn't watch, I will suggest you do it... You will like it!

Again, you need to be confident. And only by being confident you will be able to determine who you can listen to and who to ignore.

Also, this is on spot... If you don't have confidence, you will jump from one side to another and lose money... or even something more valuable...

Thanks again for the comment! I enjoyed reading it!
