Blogging Platform or Social Media Site

If I know right, when this blockchain (the old one) was created, the main idea was to create something similar to Reddit, but on the blockchain technology... After the creation, the easiest way to promote it was to do that like a "blogging platform"... As it wasn't too much like Facebook, Twitter, or similar network, it was somehow logical to go with the quote "blog and be paid for it"...

At the beginning of this year, when JS has bought the Steemit stake and announced his plans about "owning" the community, something remarkable happened... Something that nobody has expected... The people on the chain gathered and take a side of defending their freedom and independence of anyone, showing all the power of a free-minded community... After the long battle, when it was obvious that there is no winner in that "war" community decided to "move on"...

The Hive was born... And I would say that the SOCIAL MEDIA network was born... Until that moment, it was just a blogging platform on the blockchain, but with Hive and the communities connected between each other, it became a social media website... Relationships and engagement have become more important than ever... It's a buzz word on the whole chain, and everyone wants it...

People are finally recognized that those upvotes and tokens are part of the system, but they are GIVEN by PEOPLE... They exist in the code, but people are those who are distributing them... It's important to make connections with people who have the same interest as you, to support them, not just because of the possible upvotes, but also to learn from them, and to teach them...

What do you think, is it better to promote Hive as a blogging platform, or as a social media network?

Don't forget to check out the video...

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

I am in the haste somewhere so wasn't able to watch the video but from what I have read, it is best to promote hive as a social media then a blogging system.

This is because engaging with others is what brings the real fun here and also bring inspiration to what to blog. If we promote hive as a place to come in to blog and get paid, not everybody will stay and would eventually lose 90% of people that comes in here to make money through blogging as their primary aim.

We all know how hard it can be for new users to earn here especially without even having to engage with others. I used to be focused at onboarding new users to Hive and I make use of @Hivepack account and I have onboarded over 50 people. Of all the people I onboarded, I must say that only 2-3 people still come blog but there are not active.

The reason is I preached hive as a platform where you earn from blogging but I never kept the fact engagement is the key to earn more.

I will reblog this, so it would be easy for me to come to watch the video. I am very much interested to hear what you have to say. Still later buddy!

You have made a great point here! Engagement is a fun, and earning money during having fun is the best thing ever... It can be comparable with playing games and earning money for doing that...

Also, it is much easier "sell" Hive by telling the real thruth about it... That we have some awesome people here with whom you can engage, learn, and have fun... And by doing that you can earn some money...

Thank you for your time!

This blockchain has evolved in the last year a lot... To be more exact in this one... As I said and wrote, We have made the transition from static blogging platform to vibrating social media network... Now, we just have to build on that even more and keep the momentum... Educate new people that come, and make this place a sanctuary for free-minded people!

Thanks for the comment! Appreciate your work on showing people how to engage, create and live... You are a good role-model for newcomers!

Thank you Zoltan @ph1102 just trying my best to understand the platform and getting involved with the community.

No matter what we are trying to achieve online without the engagement it will be tougher to reach goals. I know once people realize that the engagement is just as important than the posting, i think they may find things will be easier all round. Have an amazing one buddy.

We are getting better in our goal of web 3.0

Early birds will really going to get the worm here.

is it better to promote Hive as a blogging platform, or as a social media network?

My idea of Hive is to promote as business platform in which we can create sounf business with free transactions.

Well, that's a good point... And I agree with that free fast transactions are one of the best things that this blockchain has...

But, on the other side, the majority of people don't know what blockchain means, so the social media network is an "easier" thing to sell...

Doing both is the best option, of course, on the platform that suits a specific way...

Starting as a blogging platform, now Hive is way more than that. What's happening on Hive right now, that's incredible. Who knows what would happen next year? I'm pretty excited to see that. :)

I expect that other tribes do something similar as LeoFinance did it... To go to the next level... Tribes and communities are the future, and the HIVE will be a backend blockchain that wears it all...

If the tribe does not have any development, stay at the same place, it will die eventually, no matter how potential that is. Development and engagement are the two most important factors to move forward. Hope other tribes will follow what LeoFinance is doing.

Can't agree more with what you said... development+ engagement is the "secret" formula
