Saludos a toda la comunidad de Hive. En esta ocasión les daré a conocer una planta muy especial como lo es el "Geranio de olor", ¿lo conoces?, te invito a que lo descubras en este post, ya que aparte de ser una decorativa, también posee muchos usos y propiedades medicinales para la salud.

El geranio de olor, geranio oloroso o perfumado, tiene su nombre científico como Pelargonium Graveolens, hay muchos tipos de esta planta, tiene un aroma a flores. Es originario de Sudáfrica y fue introducida a Europa donde la cultivan y utilizan en la industria Francesa por el aceite que se extrae de la misma, utilizado en la perfumería, fue el sustituto del famosos aceite de rosas, por su valor monetario. Esta planta esta compuesta por un aceite llamado geraniol y citronela.

Mi experiencia | My Experience

El geranio de olor lo utilizo en infusión para calmar mi ansiedad y en ocasiones nervios y mi estrés. También como parte de la preparación del famoso Masato andino, coloco en un recipiente con agua, un manojo de hojas de la planta ya sea fresca o seca y lo dejo hervir por 15 minutos y luego se lo agrego al masato.

I use geranium as an infusion to calm my anxiety and sometimes my nerves and stress. Also as part of the preparation of the famous Andean Masato, I place in a container with water, a bunch of leaves of the plant either fresh or dried and let it boil for 15 minutes and then I add it to the masato.

El aceite que se obtiene de esta planta "Geranio de Olor" también es llamado aceite de "Rosa de los pobres", ¿Por qué lo llaman así? porque este aceite es mas barato que el "aceite de rosas" que es mas costoso.

The oil obtained from this plant "Geranio de Olor" is also called oil of "Rosa de los pobres ", why do they call it this way? because this oil is cheaper than the "oil of roses" which is more expensive.
