Me encanta la moda upcycling, porque permite poner en acción nuestra creatividad, así que decidí crear una pieza para acompañar nuestro outfit casual. En esta oportunidad hice un brazalete en jean, bastante sencillo de elaborar y muy lindo al momento de lucirlo.

I love upcycling fashion, because it allows us to put our creativity into action, so I decided to create a piece to accompany our casual outfit. This time I made a bracelet in denim, quite simple to make and very nice to wear.

Para iniciar la elaboración de nuestro brazalete debemos identificar las costuras del jean, deben ser como las señaladas a continuación:

To start the elaboration of our bracelet we must identify the seams of the jean, they must be as shown below:

Se cortan 3 tiras de ese tipo según la medida del brazalete que quieras realizar, en mi caso las corté a 27cm de largo. Luego las uní en un extremo con una pinza y empecé a tejer una trenza entrelazando las 3 tiras de jean.

Cut 3 strips of this type according to the size of the bracelet you want to make, in my case I cut them to 27cm long. Then I joined them at one end with a clamp and began to weave a braid intertwining the 3 strips of jean.

Al terminar la trenza del largo deseado, tomé dos grupos de 25cm de hilo encerado (usé dos colores, así que fueron 25cm de cada color por grupo) e hice un doblez en un de los extremos, dejando la parte más larga a una cuarta de largo.

When the braid was finished to the desired length, I took two groups of 25cm of waxed thread (I used two colors, so 25cm of each color per group) and made a fold at one end, leaving the longest part a quarter of the length.

El hilo encerado es amarrado en un extremo de la trenza de jean. Seguidamente se entorcha al rededor de las tiras de jean del extremos para mantenerlas unidas y no se deshaga, asegurando con un doble nudo. Este procedimiento se realiza en ambos extremos del brazalete.

The waxed thread is tied at one end of the jean braid. It is then twisted around the jean strips at the ends to hold them together so that they do not unravel, securing with a double knot. This procedure is done at both ends of the bracelet.

Recuerda cortar el sobrante de jean y del hilo más corto para un mejor acabado.

Remember to cut the excess jean and yarn shorter for a better finish.

Para hacer un cierre corredizo se toman las tiras largas que quedaron en cada extremo, se colocan lado a lado, y con un pedazo de hilo encerado con un largo de entre 8cm-10cm se hace un amarre que abraza a los hilos, para hacer seguidamente varios nudos de igual manera.

To make a sliding closure, take the long strips left at each end, place them side by side, and with a piece of waxed thread with a length of between 8cm-10cm, make a tie that embraces the threads, and then tie several knots in the same way.

Y así quedo mi nuevo brazalete en jean. Si quieres hacer un regalo a tu mamá, esta es una opción muy bonita y facil de hacer. Espero sea de su agrado y lo intenten en casa.
