My Splinterlands Challenge of the Week Entry: Peaceful Giant.

This is my entry for the Splinterlands Challenge of the week.

Peaceful Giant

I have to admit, I never used this card before this challenge. Didn't even realize I had it! lol.

But it is pretty easy to see what this card is all about - lots of health for just 5 mana.

My Game

So to use the Peaceful Giant I decided to put him in the tank position in my Water magic attack with Stormbringer.

My first try out I got a nice 28 mana "Keep Your Distance" match-up to give him a try in.

I put my chicken in the front spot to take the first hit. Then the Peaceful Giant in the second spot. Next I put Coral Wraith (3 magic damage) followed by the Mermaid (3 magic damage). Seeing that I had a high health monster in the tank position I added the Crustation King to do some healing on the Giant. Finally I put the Captain's Ghost (3 magic damage). I was actually 1 mana short, but really wanted that 3 damage Ghost gives with the high mana on the end to take any sneak attacks that may come.

When I saw that my opponent had chosen Inferno I had a feeling I was going to win. It was keep your distance, so his summoner did him no good at all. Duh... bad choice.

But then the cards played out and I saw he had put in Prismatic Energy in as his tank. Oh no! Every time I hit him with magic he will reflect some of it! Suddenly it was a game.

How It Went

Well my guys we're just too much for him. And the Peaceful Giant really stood strong, never going down. While Prismatic Energy did manage to send back some hits and take out the Mermaid, he took too much per round and went down without taking out any more of my back line. Luckily the Wraith had sneak and didn't attack the Prismatic Energy or he would have went down first round.

The Giant did his job, absorbing a lot of damage. Having the King in to heal him up helped keep my opponent from ever getting to my back line.

Would I Use Peaceful Giant?

Truthfully, I'm not sure I would use Peaceful Giant in many battles. For my water magic attack I can get 5 hp for just 2 mana with Kelp Initiate which frees up 3 mana to add another magic attack or swap a 3 mana monster for a 6 mana monster. But he did well in this battle taking two full rounds of attacks and still had more than 1/2 his hps left.
