This week's battle challenge focuses on the Mitica Headhunter:

These savage hunters are from one of the two original villages of Anumün and are named for their unusually large heads, which are the first thing their prey sees, but at that point they’re as good as dinner.

An Untamed epic rarity monster from the Earth Splinter at level 1:

  • Estimated cost: $0.90
  • Mana cost: 8
  • Range attack: 4
  • Speed: 5
  • Health: 5
  • Snare ability: When attacking enemies with flying ability, remove the flying ability and cannot miss.

The Mitica Headhunter is a premium monster card with high damage, high speed and good health at level 1. It is a card I don't have levelled up and use it on my alt account as my alt account plays in a lower league than my main account. In high mana cap battles, the Mitica Headhunter is a must due to its high damage and high speed at level 1. Only the legendary monster from the Water Splinter, Poseidon, does 4 range damage at level 1, but at the cost of $4.8, so if you were looking for a high range damage card, the Mitica Headhunter is a good alternative.

Battle Details

  • Mana cap: 28
  • Ruleset(s): Aim True, Equalizer

Lineup Details

  • Brownie - primary tank and providing increased speed to all friendly monsters
  • Lord A - the one and only! no introduction or reasoning needed for why it is here!
  • Spirit Miner - primary magic damage and to evade the range or magic damage
  • Swamp Thing - support range damage
  • Mitica Headhunter - primary range damage dealer
  • Earth Elemental - support range damage

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

When I saw my enemy's lineup and their monsters' level, I thought I was done before, but somehow I got lucky! There were a few occasions that Lord A suffered zero-damage, and this helped a lot. Also, my backline monsters' total damage equated to 9 vs my enemy whos backline damage was 7, which helped a lot. I am still in shock and disbelief that I won this battle against an opponent who has a superior monster collection. Nonetheless, the Mitica Headhunter was pivotal in this battle. Doing 4 range damage was so vital, and it was responsible for doing the bulk of the damage and dealing the killing blows on a few of the enemy's monsters.

Do you like the Mitica Headhunter? Why or why not?

Yes, it is a high damage, high speed monster card, but its a costly one. To get it to a good level (level 4) for my main account, it will cost ~$14-15, which is expensive for me. Nonetheless, this is a must-have card for new players because even at level 1, it is a great card and an awesome addition to your splinterlands card collection.
