Gym Socks Finished

(Edited)

I remember wearing white socks with colored stripes in gym class. I mostly wore knee-high cotton socks, but in my modern interpretation the socks are lightweight wool crew socks.

I chose a creamy white sock yarn and used scraps of blue left over from another project.

I was especially pleased to get the toes neater than usual.

Now I will probably cast on some baby socks. Looks like I will have a new grandchild this summer!

I remember wearing those same knee high socks. Your crews are awesome. Congratulations on the new grandchild! I think you have a ton of knitting options with a new babe :D Merry Christmas - Happy Holidays!

I am old enough to have worn the one-piece gym romper uniforms, too. !CTP

We didn't have the one piece uniforms but we had short and t's uniform.

I am starting to cycle out my odd socks and get wool blend boot socks for winter warmth. I don't have anything hand-knit though. It's all commercial stuff. I am tired of cheap cotton socks that aren't warm and aren't sturdy though

Wool is worth it. It retains a lot of its insulating power even when wet. !CTP
