Gratitude Provokes Giving: Learning to Appreciate the little things in our lives.

(Edited)

Today was thanksgiving Sunday in my church and while the pastor was preaching, I got quite inspired to make this article. The sermon topic was learning to give gratitude and appreciating the little things in our lives instead of murmuring for what that we don't have. In this post, I would pour out my feelings on giving gratitude and appreciating the little things in our lives.

There is one thing I love doing most in my life, which is thanking those who help me in any way in my life. It is how I was brought up by my mother and I can remember her words saying that we thank people for what they have done so that they would find it pleasing to help us in future if we fall in a difficult situation.

Not showing gratitude and appreciating what someone has done for us, no matter how little, can be somehow rude and feels like one is paying good for evil. People in this kind of situations that think they are entitled to every help they get, without showing gratitude never go far in life. Some day, they would fall in need of help and nobody would come to their heed.

Sometimes, I may not have it all and may feel a little sad but I try my best to find happiness in what I have and with the hope that somehow and someday what I may not have now would be available in future.

I can relate to sometimes last year when I had no musical gadeget for my music (guitar playing), I had no speaker, no effect pedal nothing except only a guitar. I had gratitude for the guitar I had with me and kept living my life in hopes that thing would come in place coming to that aspect and fortunately enough for me, I was able to afford getting myself a guitar amplifier and a NUX Mg-20 Effect Pedal (All thanks to Hive and those people that had supported me all the way).

So in brief, One should learn to appreciate the little people do for us. It would definitely encourage them to do more for us and if we may come not to have something we want badly, we should appreciate what that we already have and hope that things would come better in future.

That's a great attitude, to be thankful. I read somewhere and during a workshop a mentor also mentioned that gratitude is the most powerful energy to start your da with; it sets the day with the right energy, mindset, etc.

I sometimes forget to be grateful every morning though; still trying to make it a habit, but what I do stick to is when I feel sad or unmotivated or whatever negative feelings I have, I remind myself of what I am grateful for. For instance, when the water pressure is way too low and I feel annoyed I try to remember other people don't have access to water out of a tap.

wow. starting a day with gratitude is a good way to start a day indeed... I am trying my best to do that often every morning, taking 3 to 5 minutes of my time to kneel and appreciate the new day.

Ah yes, if you mean prayer in the morning, then that's a great start also.

In Suriname at the Christian schools we have something called "Morgenzegen" where the class and on Mondays the whole school, sings praise, prays and discuss a text out of the Bible. Growing up I didn't really realize the benefits of that routine, but now I know it was also to start the day with good vibes.

As they say, gratitude is a magnetic for blessings. Been appreciative and grateful is one attitude we all should cultivate.

Practicing It also makes us stay hopeful for better things ahead instead of worrying in sadness.

Thanks for sharing this great article. It's a great reminder on how our heart posture should be at all times

Gratitude is the best formula in the world, the joy that gives us in our hearts when we simply thanked life for being present in it. @starstrings01 Blessings
