Vizco's Restaurant and Cake Shop
Home of the Strawberry Shortcake

Hey guys, let me share with you one of the Restaurant here in Baguio which is really famous for their Strawberry Shortcake. This restaurant is called Vizcos. In my opinion, they have the best Strawberry Shortcake in town. But they don't only serve Strawberry Shortcakes, they also have different kinds of cakes, I also love their cheesecake. You can also dine in this restaurant, they have a variety of food on their menu.

Me and my sister went there to buy a cake. Before entering the shop, you have to write all your contact information, the guard will also check your temperature and spray alcohol on your hands. Upon entering there was a display of the different types of cakes that they serve. We were supposed to get their Strawberry shortcake but we saw a new type of cake called Strawberry French Macarons. We were really curious so we got that instead of the shortcake. It cost us 580 Php which is around 12.10 United States Dollar.

This was the packaging of the cake, it was well packaged.

As soon as we opened it, we all thought that it looked really cute. The cake was covered in a plastic film so it wouldn't get deformed. It had bits of edible gold on top of the cream

My mom and sister started taking photos of the cake also.

I removed the plastic film and this was how it looked like. This is where you would see how beautifully this cake was built. We couldn't help but take a lot of photos of this cake. It's like we didn't like to eat it anymore haha.

Here comes the most difficult part in eating this cake, slicing it. My mom sliced it in 4 because we were only 4 there. She split it in half first. And as you can see, it was full of cream inside.

After dividing it, we had to choose what slice did we want.

I really think that it's impossible to cut this without deforming the cake. But I really loved the taste of this cake. The Macaron was really crispy and the filling really complemented it. The strawberries were fresh and sweet. This was really a fun and delicious experience. I hope that you guys will be able to try some of their desserts in the future.

Yummy!!! This is just the kind of cake I would love to dive into! :) I like the way you slice things, in equal parts of four. There were eleven in my family. We would have had to buy two or three cakes! I have to admit, I would have bitten on that one instead of a strawberry shortcake. I love strawberry shortcakes, but, I would have been tempted by the unknown.

I think you made a great choice and we do the same thing here, taking millions of pictures before we eat it. It was nice to see an American favorite in the Phillipines. Or perhaps it is a Filipino favorite in the US... Here is what I found! I should have known!

The earliest known shortcake recipe dates back to 1588 from an old English cookbook. ... By 1850, strawberry shortcake was a well-known biscuit and fruit dessert served hot with butter and sweetened cream. In the United States, strawberry shortcake parties were held as celebrations of the summer fruit harvest.

Anyway, I totally approve of your yummy dessert! I may have to go pick some strawberries this weekend, they are in season now!

Wow! You're a lot in your family, division must be really difficult if you're that many hehe.

I forgot to say that this was limited so that's why we chose this instead of the strawberry short cake. Thank you so much for telling me the history of the shortcake. More new learnings hehe.

Anyway, thank you so much for all your kind words. Stay safe always!

Because there were always so many, we didn't go out to eat very much. My mom made the meals and she always made enough. :) I think the strawberry shortcake was a great choice! I didn't know the history (the correct history anyway) so it benefited both of us.

I learn new things here every day! Thanks again and yes!! Stay safe!
