Exactly what I was thinking...Reminded me of the bread my mom used to get!
I've been thinking about that apple custard pie, you know. I think I might make a variation of it with a pastry base, a layer of apple, then custard and a crumble topping. I was thinking I might use tinned custard as I don't have any cream, I wonder how it would turn out!
