RE: The Stout Yeoman and Yeoman of the Guard

I love baking bread with beer, especially the dark, malty ones. I use malt beer (do you have this "children's beer" in the UK?) for my onion bread.

I have to admit, I first heard the term "yeoman" in the Star Trek series - I remember looking it up and being even more confused what the position of this young woman was (well, job description probably was "eye candy").

Later I encountered the term in the Honor Harrington Series and I think it was used there more in the original meaning.
