We do have some food-related comas from time to time, but nothing we haven't recovered from so far. !ENGAGE 20

πŸ˜‹Must be good. When I saw step 1, I scrolled back to the top. It looked like fruit juice or smoothies. So colorful. Reading further, I realized it was tomato and onion purΓ©e. Well Im tomato is a fruit ... isn’t it? πŸ˜„

Somehow it didn't feel that red when I was making it, but it certainly turned out bright red in the end. Bless up! !ENGAGE 20

I have never made these beans like this before. Great idea and I love the blending of the onions for a change. Sounds like a great sauce. This is right up my alley and my stomach is yearning for this!

I like this a little saucy for dippin', so I sometimes blend things that traditional recipes normally wouldn't do, but I'm a renegade. This dish is so much better with some form of bread than rice.!ENGAGE 20

We have red kidney beans READILY available everywhere and soooo cheap - this looks amazing!! And definitely something I will make!

We eat LOADS of legumes and are always fascinated at different flavours.

You serve it with rice, I see. Do you ever serve it cold as a dip too - with raw veggies?? Curious on the serving ideas cos we do low carb more and more and are both feeling lighter, healthier and more energized as a result.

Thanks for the kind words, we are carb-lovers in this house, so we usually eat it with rice, dumplings, chapatis, parathas, or puris, but I'm sure something low-carb could be done. I used to have a restaurant customer that loved replacing his rice with a baked potato, and they do work as nice substitutes in some dishes. It would probably be nice with this recipe since there are no potatoes in the curry. !ENGAGE 40

Rajma Chawal is a very popular north Indian dish. I too like it very much but it becomes very difficult to cook Rajma. It it is not properly cooked it doesn't become tasty. Your recipe presentation and cooking method are neat and clean, I liked it. Looking so yummy!!

Very true, I always use a pressure cooker to cut down on cooking time, because you're right, it can take a long time for rajma to cook fully. Thanks for stopping by. !ENGAGE 25

Hi @justinparke This preparation looks too rich, I never imagined that tomato and beans would come together on a plate. As soon as I get the chance, I will, as it whetted my appetite. Could it be modified and replaced with another grain you have on hand?

Thanks for the kind words. You could replaced the beans with any local bean you have access to, and it will be just as delicious. I really like to prepare this recipe with black beans and garbanzo beans as well. !ENGAGE 25

Monkey-B loves most vegetables raw more than cooked, and has been know to eat raw pumpkin, and I've even seen her eat raw potato once. They have been raised on chilies, but both of our daughters still don't like to encounter a big piece. !ENGAGE 10
