Gardening Report
I'm back with another report for May. Things are working according to plan, even though the weather is very capricious, we got a lot of rain. We're still going according to schedule, but the neighbor is late as he could not work in the garden due to excessive rain. We are lucky with the sheets, you can work even if it's raining.
This is the gooseberry, looking fantastic actually. I was a bit concerned because late frost can kill everything but this year we were lucky, there was a frost about two weeks ago and only a few seedlings were affected. I need these gooseberries for my yummy jam :)
Currants are also looking good. This year we were able to trim the old branches, so we get more fruit as new branches have more space.
Raspberries, the other favorite or mine for making jam. It's a bit too early for this as fruits are just starting to grow but it's looking good, looks like we're going to have a good harvest. The jam is already sold, it's commissioned since last year. Clients are waiting to buy my jam :)
Potatoes! There's not much to see here as potatoes grow underground, the upper part is just to feed the potatoes, but it looks great.
Peas!!! We make canned peas with tomato, that you can make a soup of in 5 minutes. These are also growing according to plan.
Onions! I've been waiting for onions to grow so we can have fresh onions but they need more time. In other years by this time we could already have them for dinner, but this year we started late due to bad weather. Nothing is lost though, healthy, fresh and organic onions are welcome any time of the year.
Pepper seedlings enjoying outside weather, protected by the foil sheets.
Zucchini is so tiny, but they grow fast and I'm expecting to have a zucchini pottage in two months.
All you see in the garden is 100% organic, no chemical is used. What we use is this 100% organic fertilizer, approved for organic gardening, that is sprayed on the leaves to to nourish the plants. Last year was the first year we used it and it's really good.
Lastly the lovely German iris that is a fascinating flower.
I think a good two months is still needed in order to get some harvest, but it's always worth to wait.

Looking good! I would be happy to be on that pre-order jam list. If only I weren't so far away, haha!
It's hard to be patient sometimes, but it is always worth the wait. Our weather is a little ahead here, so I may be able to get the first few little patty pan squash in the next week or so!

Lol, thank you for the confidence vote. I would send you some gladly, but unfortunately that's not possible.
You're lucky with that weather, you can have everything way more early than us. Enjoy your squash :)

tokens.Nice garden.
We haven't received much rain at all this year, so my strawberries didn't produce much at all. My raspberries have fruit on them, but I worry about the lack of rain and their growth.
Sorry to hear about your problems, we have an irrigation system that helps us when rain is lacking. Without that, we'd have nothing. Unfortunately weather is not what it used to be anymore.

I would need to run a water line out to my garden, so for now, I just use the hose.
