Who am i?
Who or what am I (not)? (True Self)
I am not the body. I am not the thoughts. I am not the brain. I am not the mind.
Who am i? (the persona or the little i)
i am a Solipsist Mystic. The little i, i think is more like a dream character in this dream of life. Writing now as this dream character (who now calls himself Atma):
i am an English guy who's been living abroad for 14 years, now settling down in Bulgaria. Since just before leaving England, having stumbled across some "spiritual" ideas which blew my mind and led me to choose to put my faith in the above concepts, and do my best to live as if it is truth.
Before that, i lived a "normal" life, working, saving, wife and children. I started a trucking business with two partners, quitting my job eight years later, moved to Turkey and sold my shares in the business about a year later.
Continuing the story but keeping it short, here are some highlights:
i began to learn to meditate, immersed myself in spiritual teachings, books and movies while in Turkey for 18 months, took a trip to Thailand to learn about yoga and do a teacher training. Moved on to Mexico, bought an RV, met a Huichol Shamana, got arrested in the desert for harvesting Peyote, lived at a yoga school for a couple of years, fasted for 41 days in the jungle in Yucatan, began researching holistic healing when a friend was diagnosed with cancer, opened a healing retreat centre in Mexico which i ran for 5 years, volunteered at a yoga school in France for 5 months, moved to India and stayed at an ashram for 10 months. And much more in-between. A journey of healing, emotional integration and so much more.
i seem to be a "big thinker', with "world changing" ideas flowing through me, and a "connector of people". About 8 years ago i registered the domain a-plan-for-peace (no longer online) as ideas came to me which included a network of small circles of 12 people, family / friends / like minded people who made plans, came to decisions, elected a representative to join with 11 other representatives from 11 other circles, and so on upwards until all of humanity were able to communicate with each other through elected reps (and directly), to make local and worldwide decisions, to share resources - and much more. I found myself unable to solidify the ideas or present them to others in a way that could be understood.
Not long after that i came across Larry K Mason's Nopom system which blew me away. Last week i revisted this and found Perry Gruber's Copiosis system which has been birthed from Nopom. I won't share links here as this is supposed to be my introduction post, but will do later in other posts. Please follow me @atma.love to find out more.
About 2 weeks ago, i felt inspired to revisit these ideas so began researching for a platform that could host such a system. Just over a week ago i found Steemit (now rebranded as Hive) and then a post by a guy named John (@matrix-8) describing a similar system (and so much more) and his plans to build it on Steem (now on Hive). My heart lept with joy.
Over the last week i have been reading all of John's website in which he describes eloquently and in great detail all the ins and outs of the Matrix-8 platform. I've also read probably fifty or more posts from other amazing people writing some exceptional articles (for example @sorin.cristescu, @edicted, @acidyo, @pstaiano and many more) following them (and many more), made a few comments and resteemed (re-Hived) many of these exceptional posts (check out my feed https://peakd.com/@atma.love/feed to read).
It feels like i've come home! (feeling emotional now as i type :-).
I've run out of RC many times (SP (now HP) delegation invited). Fortunately i've finally found a way to buy some Crypto (neither of my banks would let me - one ever threatening to close my account if i tried again) so soon i should have plenty of Steem Power (now Hive Power) so i can post more :-) and continue with my research and learning and connecting with fellow would be peace-realisers and we'll see what comes out of the melting pot.
I look forward to connecting with more and more of my new family here in Hive and doing my best to help the network and the members to thrive.

Yeah, plenty of stories could be told (including getting in the paper and on the internet re the Peyote thing - and 3 x 3 nights in jail for said offence - and a hunger strike so the judge let me go in the end :-) ). i find however that dwelling in the past without good reason can keep me stuck there, so i usually focus on "future" possibilities to create a brighter future. Having said that theres a time and a place for everything. Like round the fire with a toke or two :-). Not that i do that anymore. Well, very rarely :-)

My yoga lineage:
I started with a TTC at Agama in Thailand back in 2008 then went to Mexico to help one of the teachers open a new school there in 2009. After a couple of years the guy who started it invited Sahajananda, the founder of Hridaya Yoga to move there, which he did. Since then the school has bloomed and now opened a European HQ in France. I volunteered there in 2018 for a few months. I highly recommend it. A wonderful heart-opening community, both in France and Mexico.
A few months before i went to Hridaya in France i discovered a wonderful teacher; Jai Dev Singh, who shares Kundalini teachings (philosophy and practice) with online video courses. I have done many and now my daily practice (well, mostly daily, well, i cannot lie, not for about 3 weeks since i've been in England visiting family and caught the Steemit bug :-) includes Sahibi Kriya, Sadarshan Chakra Kriya, Sirshasana and mantra chanting. I'm still sitting in silence each day for some time, but i need to get back to the rest of the practice as i've added about 2 kgs since i've been here!
Also, i spent 10 months or so at an ashram in India in the presence of a realised being following the ancient path of the Upanishadic Seers. I actually decided to stay there until i self-realised, and started building a house! But when i went on a visa run to Turkey ego came into play again and i chose to break some of the precepts which are required if i was to return. So my journey took a different path. I see you are going to India. I HIGHLY recommend you go for a 10 day silent retreat. It is in Kerala. Let me know if you're interested and i can send you contact details.

Yes, it has certainly become more fullfilling since i began to wake up 14 years ago and left the UK, began to travel and explore the inner self, that freaky stuff as an ex gf used to call it :-)

I see you're from Cambridge. My family are in Thetford & Norwich (which is where i was for most of my life) and i am actually here now. I came for Christmas (driving here from Bulgaria) intending to stay for 2 or 3 weeks, but car engine developed a big problem a week or so ago so now waiting to have a replacement engine fitted. Should be done in about a week then i'll head home.

Bank. How did you guess? Yes indeed it was Monese. I was surprised. Apart from this i have found them to be an excellent bank. I've sinced looked at their terms and conditions more closely and it does say that they cannot currently make crypto currency transactions but are actively working to make it possible (paraphrased).
I was in Thailand for about 6 months back in 2008. Nearly 3 months on Koh Phangan (or however its spelt) doing a yoga teacher training.

Upvoting doesn't touch your SP. That is just a measure of how valuable your upvotes are. Your RCs and VP (vote power) reduce, but they build back up over time. At 100% upvote, you should be able to make 10-11 per day and it will be fully recharged by the following day. The lower your VP gets, the lower the value of your vote is and both you and the person you're voting on will benefit less, so it's recommended to keep your VP above 80%. https://steemworld.org/@atma.love is a good resource to monitor your a account statistics.

Hello and welcome! My family and I are heading to Mexico soon to try another way of living. I would love your thoughts about the country and culture, and any advice you could give about settling in, especially with children. Mexico is a large and diverse country. After getting about half way through @matrix-8's linked post, a common weakness of the matrix-8 and STEEM systems seems to be the lack of an optional Proof of Human verification .
This weakness (as well as a possible solution) was discussed in my blog and is mentioned for your reading pleasure.

Yes.
My feeling is that the more decentralized authority becomes the more representational it will become. So in that regard @matrix-8's proposal is an interesting one. However depending on what level an issue becomes then one would have a greater degree of separation from ones representative than one does now with the elected representatives in government.
One would start out in the lower level of 8 individuals. One that you had chosen would be sent to the next level. They would then have a part in choosing the representative on the third level. No one that you had choosen would have a part in choosing the next 5 delegates. That sounds more broken than the present elected representative in most claimed to be democracies.
My goal is to seek non-representational (or direct representation) governance. As we approaxh the age of AI replacing many in the labor force, we could turn governance into an industry. For example anyone partipating in legislative voting could recieve financial rewards. My personal preference is to have no one represent me but myself and to allow AI and machines to free up my time (and others) enough that our full attention can be brought to bare on matters now decided.by central authority.

That is not necessarily the case. My understanding is as follows:
The representative from your 8-PAC in level 1, would sit in 8-PAC on level 2 (and leve1 1 members are able to observe through video and audio the level 2 meeting - and send text messages to the rep during the meeting). If the rep fails to follow the agreed upon line he/she can be removed and replaced by another even in the middle of the meeting.
The same applies for level 3 meeting (and the rep from you group might be the one selected as rep for level 3), and so on right to level 11 (if entire population has joined.
@matrix-8 will likely confirm my understanding and shed more light
@acidyo I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this too, especially with your research and development into reputaion.
It is still decentralized representation with even more people involved than the straight up elected rep which you can monitor, tweet and howl at the moon. My feeling is that once at level 3 one would no longer have the ability to recall unless it happened to be someone from your original eight.
It seems more sensible to me to work towards direct representational governance. The tech is just about there for it, it is just a matter of tax slaves not having the needed time to attend to it.
The following iswas written by @matrix-8 and sent to me by e-mail. He's asked me to post it here:
"Here I want to talk about Reputation and possible Sybil Attacks. Especially at the beginning of our venture, a bad guy could spend the time to create a whole network of nonexistent Participants – and get rewarded as if they were real. But, that Value stolen would be almost negligible until the M-8 Platform had accumulated a large number of Members. Presumably, by then we would be able to root out any Sybils.
There will be continual periodic evaluations of one's Peers in their 8-PAC's. Anyone found to be fudging will receive a black mark on their Reputation; and superior activities will receive gold stars. Both positive and negative reports will also reflect back on their Recruiter. Any time anyone interacts with any Member on the platform, the person's Communications will be tagged from 1 to 100 with a numerical grade reflecting their Reputation. And when things really get rolling and Members start to join in Goal Groups that impact the Real World – everyone will be expected to pony up their percentage of the costs involved. In this CauseFunding aspect of the M-8 system, Sybils will be immediately obvious – when their portion of the costs don't show up. (Or, if someone wanted to maintain the Reputation of one of their Sybil entities, they could pay the extra quota for their imaginary Member. In this case, no real damage would be done to one's Peers.)
You can take this with a grain of salt – because I am quite ignorant regarding programming. But, I think that edicted's biggest problem--in his blogs on Reputation--is that it's difficult to guard against the random banditry of Strangers. And in the M-8 system – we're talking about family. You trust your family; you're wary of Strangers. The founders of the M-8 system are going to be a fairly worldly and savvy group. I think we will be able to institute state-of-the-art protections for ourselves. Over time, a person's Reputation Quotient would be their numerical grade times the number of years they've been around. Sybil Attacks were somewhat my concern when suggesting the introduction of an optional CAPCHA sustem.
It seems to me that until sentient activity is verifiable in a digitaluzed matrix-8, then one could play with the valves and levers all day long without being ever certain if one is monitoring bot traffic or not.
Just because there is a sentient precence does not exclude them originating from some sweat shop somewhere. That is where the reputation scheme would have greater weight. Its benifits would only.be exerted if a verified sentient is at the wheel; driving the traffic so to speak. 😎
Hi, the downvote bots are nothing to worry about and did not reduce your payout. I get them sporadically too as do many other Steemians 🙏🏽

Not as adventurous as yours but just nice. Still struggling to make daily basis need enough, paying debts and everything but I'm happy as I am. I believe it will get better within 5 to 10 years.

Re. your finger surgery. Good luck with that (assuming you choose to go ahead with it). But you should know that the doctor knows *hit about it. I can advise if you're open to holistic treatment which will deal with the root cause. You can do it yourself for little or no cost. Thank you. Yes, I'm going with the surgery, I once did it myself before with success but this time I failed. So, I decided to let the doctor take over and it will be a great experience for me. Something tht I can share with my patients later in the future.

Well, Perry Gruber seems to be adopting Larry K Masons system (which has not got off the ground), but Perry doesn't really seem to be getting anywhere either at the moment. The Copiosis FB page is here: https://www.facebook.com/Copiosis/ Larry's website is very informative: http://nopomstuff.info/ The free audio book or pdf Invisible Hand explains how it will work very well.
The concept is really wonderful, Utopian i would say. The thing is getting people to adopt it en mass (which is what is needed for it to work) is very difficult without proper organisation.
I think the only way to get properly organised (that i have seen anyway) is the proposed Matrix-8 Platform. With such a system working, with many people using it, then it would be possible to adopt Copisosis/NoPom or something similar.

I suggest you check out Ecoin too and sign up for some free ones. It looks like it's gonna bring mass adoption to Crypto. And if they use a Matrix-8 Platform as John Huckel has proposed to them in his open letter (which i forwarded to the Ecoin CEO), then the sky's the limit!

Free necessities for everyone. No need to work. Then when there is no need to work, people will do what they are passionate about. If they do stuff which creates a net benefit for humanity, they get rewarded with NBR (net benefit reward) points which can then be used to buy luxuries. It is an amazing system, and it will work
