My love for analog
Hey analog photographers!
My name is solymi, I am a film maker and photographer. I have been on hive since January so all this is kind of new for me.
I studied Multi Media Art in the University of Applied Sciences Salzburg.
Since I was a small kid in the eighties and a teenager in the nineties analog cameras are not a new concept to me. In fact my first camera was at age 7-8 I think and was an olympus automatic camera. I unfortunately lost this during the years.
I own a bunch of older and newer cams and lenses someone could say that I got a little crazy with my collection and it is still not complete. I will write on that topic later on.
For now I just want to show you a random collection of analog photos that I took in the past few years after I rediscovered photography for myself.
The next portrait is shot on canon t50 on expired BW film I think it was Kodak not sure and was shot with the 50mm lens
ist slightly out of focus but I still like it
This was a testshot with the Canon T50 on the same roll
This was taken in Croatia on a NIKON FE2 with a 28 to 55 tamron lens.
I wont put more more pics for now I want to keep some for later.
I hope alle of you are healthy and well, stay safe.
cheers solymi
PS I got a POLAROID Camera for sale on NFTshowroom with an NFT providing you proof of ownership. Check it out here: https://nftshowroom.com/solymi/gallery/solymi_redeemable-nft-real-world-assets-with-proof-of-ownership_polaroid-supercolors-redeemable
OMG !!!!
such great images - the portrait is stunning and he is beautiful and her silent expression just fantastic
focus is for weak people. real photography is not about sharp focus ;-)
thank you very much !
will wait for more !
Thank you so much! Yeah sometimes it is all about whats not in focus. :)
I will share much more and there is more pictures in the making :)
just do IT please :-)
I like this excuse a lot :)
Haha me too :-) once no one carefully investigated the images for the tight focus. today with the 50MPX cameras ppl just become crazy if something not really good focused, like non stop challenge :-)
Thank you for your contribution to the Analog (FILM) Photography community.
Oh thank you so much! I am really happy about that :)
Great photos. The third one must be quite old.
My father had Wera camera and I loved to take BW photos with it.
Yeah the third one was a real low ISO ORWO Film from GDR
it expired in the late 70ies
never user Wera camera :-)
@solymi Great pics! What curation trail are you on? Get feedback! I had/have an Olympus still, somewhere in storage and/or here with me in a box? I was always envious of canon cameras. Not sure why? This is just something about the picture that seems different? Unable to explain why? Have a blessed weekend!
Your Grace!
1 @curie
2 @qurator
3 @risingstargame
these are my curation trails, any more suggestions? The t50 is an automatic camera by canon your Grace only can change the lens and focus manually, shutter speed and f-stop is decided by the camera and it sometimes does not take the picture as your royal highness would want it to look.
Your highness can get the canon T series for about 80$ sometimes even cheaper. The expensive thing about analog photography is the developing costs.
It makes one think twice before releasing the shutter.
Long live the King!
@solymi The King thanks thee for your explanations! The kingdom is very familiar with the developing costs of 35 MM film. We remember the smell when opening a roll of film.... In the U.S. the developing costs had started to become less expensive after some of the major chain stores took on the process. I would imagine now that it is very expensive due to a limited supply of locations that still process film.
right now there is a massive boom of interest to analog photography - there are many new film brands as well there are many photography stores and labs reopened their developing services.
you can reed the Analog (FILM) Photog(raphy) - an introduction (post i)
there is a link to the worldwide list of the stores doing that and sending the results by mail if needed.
@victorbz The King thanks thee! Very interesting! We shall share this with the kingdom.... Have a blessed and prosperous day!
huge thank you !
great day to you too
you always welcome to contribute your old or new analog stuff to Analog (FILM) Photog community. The community is still not popular as film photography these days but, you will find real photography Art in the community posts

https://www.etsy.com/listing/957637241/praktica-super-tl-2-with-135mm-28-lens?ref=listing_published_alert
Hmmm looks cool :)) ... I have lot time hold my eyes on 6*6 films , but soon I see what I going to take, there is lot cool film camera and lot 90 % of them make also cool photos.
I have an Optimet but I could not sell that one since it belonged to my grandma and I am also using it a lot. I am going to be writing about that.
120 film is the way - big negatives are working in the same way as the full-frame cameras -the bigger censor - the more light you bring to your frames
Just lets get one, so I can start to play :) but first HIVE must move lot up :) I can not move yet .
i'm waiting for this, brother
I know :)) ... HIve is not yet 2 $ :)))
i see but its growing very nice
Yes :)) ;)
Very interesting. Taking analog photos is a skill of deciding whether a shot is worth it or not.
I have a 35mm Revue film camera that seems to have a broken shutter, which means wasted film from time to time. It just sits there for clout...
these days it's very easy to find some not expensive film camera to use it for the slow dedication to the real photography with more decision to click or not to click :-)
I don't know if I have the patience for the processing either, but if I come across a vintage in working order I won't leave without it!
i'm just doing this like some kind of meditation. stop everything around and agitate the black Patterson tank with the celluloid inside :-)
I simply loved these photos.
