Hive Times - We Will Need A Carpenter

G Day Folks

Welcome to Hive Times

Hmm, Lunch time already, I was sure it was just breakfast time, snack time and snack time

How are you all going with your eating habits in the crazy lockdown times, How many of you find yourself in the cupboard or the fridge just looking for something, anything lol.

I have taken to drinking copious amounts of water, every time I find myself in the kitchen I get a glass of water instead of a snack, otherwise I will need to hire a carpenter when all this is over, to put a new wider door onto the house so I can get out.

If you are looking for post apocalypse trades, Carpenters and Plumbers will be in high demand, now’s the time to do that online course, lol

Seriously though I am seeing some excellent recipes out there and You Tube always brings me back to some delectable edible that some kitchen wiz is showing how to prepare.

Even here on HIVE I am seeing some great quick and simple recipes that will give you the opportunity to make some great snack treats to tide you over.

I am also seeing many people experimenting and trying some combinations that you would never think of if it wasn’t for the fact that we are all making do with what we have.

Most of us will have made sure that we have staples, such as Rice, Pasta, Lentils, Beans and flour, and these are great ingredients for many different dishes. One of my faves is to make a red lentil Dahl and I have been making these for years now. Having said that I saw a great recipe for Dahl on You Tube and it is great seeing very different ways of making this great dish.

In the meantime, we are still raiding the cupboards and the fridge, probably more than we should be, with some fridges you can now program them to say something when you open the door and again there are some hilarious ones out there in You Tube land.

As I mentioned above this extra snacking that we might be doing is generally not because we are hungry but because we might be compensating as a result of being less active than usual. So in these instances Drink a glass of water, stay hydrated and you will not want to snack so much

So as I come back from the kitchen with a choc coated coconut bar, I am now looking on Google for that carpenter, I figure if I book them early then I may be able to go for a walk sooner once all this is over.

In the spirit of making sure we eat healthy and well I have found some great recipes here on HIVE and today I would like to feature the post by @blind-spot who has posted a recipe for Chapati

Chapati is a great alternative to bread, or flat breads and is great to use as a wrap material . @blind-spot refers it to a sub continental Tortilla

That Dahl looks delicious and @blind-spot chapati also... I suppose that it's "chapata" in Spanish, as that looks like.. and it tastes great :)
