FRESH - Short and Sweet - Systematic Substance and Subsequent engagement

Hi Folks

How do you go about creating your email series ??

I use two methods,

Primarily I go about creating a series of 14 emails following the practice of creating an Introduction email where you talk about whom you are and what the purpose of your list is going to be.

As described in numerous posts, this is not a sell email; this is purely an informational email to let your subscribers be informed as to who and what they are engaging with.

This 1st email also carries the Lead Magnet that you offer when getting people to subscribe. I offer Free E Books as an incentive to sign up to my list and this first email will have a copy to download.

I always like to empower my audience with ownership of the Newsletter by inviting them to put in submissions. After all what you are building is a community and for it to become a real community then reciprocal engagement is a must.

After the 1st email I then create another informational email, reiterating what was in the first email and embellishing upon it, again this is not the sell , it is about engagement and giving your subscribers the space to feel comfortable.

The 3rd email will go over the ground you have covered in the first two, however this third email will point to a suggested method/program in which they, the subscribers, may want to investigate because you have found it to be a worthwhile program to be a part of.

The 4th Email will talk extensively about the program that you have offered in the third email

The 5th email will then enter into a discussion about the program you offered in the third and fourth and invite them to offer up their experience to date. This then allows your subscribers to come forwards and engage with you about the program and ask questions if they have any.

6th email addresses any questions you have received and offers encouragement to continue.

After the sixth email it goes back to the concept of email 3 and 4 where you enter into informational territory and share some of your experiences with your subscriber and the cycle then continues. Up to the 14th email in your series.

That is the structured part of the series that you have developed and you will space this out so that it gets delivered over a 3 week period.

My second method which gets added onto the first is that what I do is I send out broadcast emails to my subscriber list when new information or an opportunity arises that I feel would be beneficial to my email list. Once the broadcast email has been delivered to your list you can then schedule this email into your series, start adding your broadcast emails to the end of your series and slot them in where there may be a vacancy in delivery days.

By systematically creating your series to start with and then subsequently adding your broadcasts to your series you eventually build up quite a swag of emails in your series. I currently have over 60 letters in my email series, which means that when a new subscriber comes on board I effectively have their engagement for over 2 months from the day they sign up.

I also revisit the emails in my series from time to time to bring them up to date and provided your do not push every program through the list you will not have to do too much cleaning up.

Be considerate and sensible and make sure that you are only informing your subscribers about programs that have given you a proven track record. There is no point telling them about programs that you have not yourself given enough time to have a knowledgeable experience.

Remember you are not pushing to your audience you are pulling your audience to you and going on a journey with them.
