Money or Knowledge - Which One Would You Pick?

There are a lot of great initiatives at this moment on the whole HIVE blockchain... There are a lot of great initiatives inside the CTP swarm also... One of them is started just lately by @jongolson, where he will make beneficiaries on his post to some of the CTP members that are near reaching the Dolphin rank...

That made me thinking about the contribution of people inside the community, and how people are helping each other all the way... I don't mean that everyone should do the same as Jon... There is no pressure at all on anyone to do the same... As a matter of fact, everyone should contribute in his way, with things that it does the best...

It's not always the money the only thing that can motivate and then empower others to do great things... People sometimes got empowered by some ordinary things, like a word from your blog post, that can trigger and inspire someone to do something special...

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against that the initiative of rewarding others with some tokens, as I'm doing a similar thing by upvoting comments of everyone that engage with me... I know that it's not a lot, but it's a good thing for creating a habit of commenting and engaging on the platform...

As time passes by, people are starting to do naturally... I've been there a couple of months ago... I didn't comment too much at all... Just a couple of times, to the people that will "return the favor"... After some time, it gets to a habit, and now I'm doing a lot of engagement with a lot of people...

Find your unique way to support the community, or it will find you... :) Usually, it comes naturally, so don't worry if you don't have it right now... Just appreciate and respect others, and the money will come...

Check out the video... Writing these lines, I noticed that I didn't talk about these things inside it... lol...

It looks that I have messed up and forgot to add the second part of the video... lol... Check it out on the link below...

So true. It can be the simplest thing that inspires someone to release what is great about them. Thank you for the encouraging reminder.

That's why I always try to encourage others to create more here on the blockchain, as you never know what great thing can someone else can do triggered by you!

In answer to the question, for me it is about Knowledge and Information sharing, I have never been a capitalist type person and have always been about what can I provide for others and whet can I learn from others. Money has never been my main motivation for doing things

I am not Financially wealthy but I have extreme wealth in well being and mindfulness, i have extreme wealth in mu knowledge base and friendships
I consider myself to be very wealthy as a result

Re the giving to others, i was so touched by @jongolson doing the Beneficiary thing that I decided to do this with the Russell's chatter post.

Not only can I share the knowledge and information that I have and contribute by up voting people I am now restoring the Love and adding the beneficiary.

As you say everyone gives in a multitude of ways and one has to stay just on the edge of their capacity.

Keep up the good work Zoltan, I like your vlogs very much

Money or Knowledge - Which One Would You Pick?

How about both? :)

One might say knowledge is better because with it you can create wealth. But many smart and knowledgeable people don't have enough money. Some are even broke.

On the other hand, one can be 'loaded' and appear stupid at the same time. But they generally have the knowledge to make money. Whether they keep them or not, can be an entirely different deal.

Indeed @gadrian. How about both :)

Knowledge and experience (without financial support) may still mean very little. Regardless how much we know, making money usually require some money in the first place.

Cheers

hehehe... Yeah, we would like to be like that... Sometimes it is... but a lot of time is unbalanced, as you said...

Thanks for taking a time to watch, read and comment on my post! Appreciate it!

Dear @ph1102

Interesting and quite unique choice of topic.

Just like @gadrian asked: "How about both? :)"

I trully cannot figure out what I would like more today. Perhaps I would choose MONEY since I found it easier to build knowledge (having money) than to build wealth (having knowledge, but no money)

Enjoy your weekend, upvote on the way :)
Yours, Piotr

This is an interesting answer... I mean, it was a kind of "trick" question, but you are very much in right... It's almost impossible to succeed ONLY with knowledge, but on the other side, if you have a lot of money and don't know how to handle it, the bankruptcy is very near... and we saw both things a lot of time...

So, the best answer will be the both... if it is possible :)

Thanks for passing by!

You are so right - knowledge really goes a long way when it comes to self growth & extending your prosperity in the long run. Of course, I alternate between money & knowledge as a choice but I noticed knowledge wins most of the time.

Things like what @jongolson is doing is a beneficial concept because it shows others they are acknowledged & appreciated. This can go a long way for someone in our community, beyond just earning money. It can motivate them to keep going because they know their hard work is appreciated. Sometimes, it only takes one person to inspire them & keep going.

In other circumstances in life, knowledge will be the winning choice. In personal life experiences, while I like money as anyone else would, when someone shares knowledge (or even teaches me) to help me better myself & be more self sufficient, I will choose it every time. I would rather be able to grow into a better version of myself through that gained knowledge & perhaps, later down the line, help someone else as well. It is a butterfly effect since we are all connected in one form or another. :)

Your neighbor sounds like an awesome person. Big shout out to him. Thank you for sharing this concept. It is an interesting discussion & as always, you inspire. :) 💚

There were some great comments on this question, and there is no straight answer, as these things are so many times correlated... To take some unserious note, maybe we are poor because we want to be more knowledgable... :) Or, vice-versa... :)

As I do believe in the power of the wish... If you want something, focus, and work on it, you will get it at the end... I would like to have money, but it looks that I move my focus to other things, and in my "deeper me" I actually want something else... :)

Have a great weekend!

Definitly is not everything about money - atleast for me.Knowlidge is power they say....And learning is something you keep forever.Great post

Yes, it is indeed... Knowledge is power, but we have to have voice to use it! And to get a voice, sometimes we need money... so, it is a kind of cirle... :)

Yeah nothing is free I would say, but investment in future or knowledge is from my point good thing.

That is a good question with many possible answers. Both knowledge and money is necessary. I guess it is all about finding the perfect balance.

Exactly... it was more rehtorical question, as it's indeed all in the balance between those two things...

Great post @ph1102. I would take knowledge. Knowledge can lead me to wealth.

Thank you for your question @ph1102 ... I have always said that it is not all about the money ... people lose me when that is all they talk about. My experience has always been the more people that I help to achieve what they are striving for the more rewarding my life has become. It is the knowledge that we learn from others that we pay forward to others that helps us all to have more success!

Thanks for the awesome comment! I totally agree with everything you said! I'm trying to do the same... helping others to succeed, and money will come on the way...

Maybe it still doesn't pay off, but I have met a lot of outstanding people on the journey... something a lot more valuable than money...

I think Knowledge is more valuable than money I also think Knowledge can lead to better ways to use money in a better way

Don't get me wrong I do love a good pay out on a post or any content but what I like the most is a post that gets a lot of engagement.

No, I will not get you wrong, as I like the same thing... and when I get both, that's the best... :)

Great reflections on what can be. I rather have the knowledge. Knowledge begets money, so if I have the knowledge I will be empowered to make the money.

That's good thinking... Knowledge is more powerful and more sustainable... but, if it isn't used, then it's useless...

Thanks for the comment!

Of course it's nice to earn money but I believe that the only thing that people can't take away from you is what you know. So for me I would prefer knowledge because money is just a concept after all... In certain cases money can't buy you food...

I should do a different question... something like Crypto or knowledge? That would be a bit harder to pick... hehehehe...

Even if you have money, and you do not have the knowledge, you might lose that money. Managing money is harder than earning money. You give a nice example, fish and learning how to fish.

You have an interesting point of view... You can lose the money, but you can't lose your knowledge...
Thanks for the comment!

It's a tough choice given the condition of the world right now. Those who have money didn't have to worry much about where or how to procure goods. But those with knowledge are somehow able to get by. I've come this far without much money, but knowledge has helped me a lot to survive 😂🤣 still, having both could be a distinct advantage. Have a great week, Z! 😉👍🏼

Yes, it looks that most of us would like to have both... Surprise, surprise... :) And I agree that knowledge can be a good tool for hard times when our "survival mode" of like turns on...
