It always seems impossible until it is done...

Sometimes I have a feeling that the past day had more than 24 hours... It happens when, at the end of a day, I have no idea what happened in the morning... lol... And, it's not because I'm drunk, or have memory issues, but because it happened so many things that I couldn't remember all of them... It's almost impossible that all that happened in just 24 hours...

It always seems impossible until it is done.

Nelson Mandela

That reminded me on this awesome quote by Nelson Mandela... It is so short and simple, but you can understand it in many ways from different points of view...

Today, in the morning, I had a busy schedule of things to do... My day was planned like kind of 99% full of activities... When you take a look at the list, you would say, there is no way that something else can be added more... But, it just looked impossible...

The day started very slow and lazy... I had a great day yesterday, I was in a flow then and did a lot of stuff... Actually, I have compared it with today around noon and said how it's totally different day and it will be hard to do ANY work today...

Not that I have done all that I had on the list, but I had some unexpected stuff to deal with that took me an additional 30% of the time... at least...

But hey... Something isn't good with that calculations! 99% + 30 % = 129%!

Yes, exactly... It looks impossible, but it's done!

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

You are not kidding about not knowing where the time goes! I swear I had the same feeling lately...I was so go go go the first half of this week - kicking butts & taking names (in a good way lol) & Wed hit.....BOOM! A big decline ...I thought that it would be "impossible" to get my stuff done....

Here I am Friday, about to head off for the evening & I got a video up as well as a lot of "behind the scenes" things accomplished....it is interesting how we tend to get in our own way when we think in a certain perspective sometimes....

When we allow ourselves to flow & stop limiting ourselves with our thoughts, we can definitely do a lot more. We surprise ourselves what we can be truly capable of! ;)

Great post, Zoltan! Now, get some well deserved rest & have a great evening! :) 💚

When we allow ourselves to flow & stop limiting ourselves with our thoughts, we can definitely do a lot more. We surprise ourselves what we can be truly capable of! ;)

This is the crucial part and the best recipe! Just do your job/work and don't think too much, and you will accomplish a lot more than just turning around things in the head over and over and over again...

Thinking is OK for getting a direction, but then, the flow takes us beyond the limits!

Nice, I've found it helpful to break my day up into blocks of time. For example this 30 minutes is dedicated to just reading posts like this one and leaving a worthwhile comment on it. Blocks allow me to focus on a task instead of bouncing all around all day long and actually allows you to acomplish a lot more. Some blocks are 5 minutes while others can be up to a hour. I try never to go over a hour though as you mind really starts to wonder off at that point. The hour projects are normally funnel building for clients.

That's an interesting approach and method... I do something similar, but with larger chunks of time... So, I have things to do BEFORE lunch, things for AFTERNOON, and things for the evening... and then I try to split them into little pieces (tasks)... If I don't do that, the chaos will kill effectiveness...

Sometimes what is impossible is figuring out how I stay awake. I sometimes get started and by the time I get to a stopping point, I have gone 3 to 4 hours past the time I was planning to get to bed. Then I sleep a few hours and do it all over again. For me, there never seems to be enough time to get everything done that I want to. Every thing seems to take longer than I expected and my schedule was already full in the first place. Maybe I need to do a better job of prioritizing and eliminate a few things from my list of things to do. It's just so hard to take things off the list!

hehehe... I know what do you mean about work taking longer than expected... :) I have a similar problem, but I think that I know why that happens (in my case)... I want to do X thing (and put that as a goal)... While I'm doing it, I get an idea of how can I improve the original idea/goal and try to implement that, too! It's not a distraction or shiny object, it is still the same goal, but improved! So, I'm on the course, the product will be better, but I will "lose" more time in doing it as I didn't plan to have "additional ideas"... :)

This quote seems like my life hahaha. I dread doing new stuff but when I actually try it and get the hang of it, it shows how possible it was/is.

Enjoy the weekend 😊

Hehehe... Yeah, as @pixiepost said... If we just do the job, without thinking too much, we will see that we can do the impossible!

Have an awesome weekend! (and record that vlog that you have promised... and if you did it, and I missed it, leave the link :) )

Hi @ph1102

It happens to me frequently, in my case I have come to the conclusion that when I lose track of time and it is because it is usually those days where I am usually busier than usual fulfilling multiple activities simultaneously.

Best regards, have a great weekend.

Yeah... Those days are when we don't have time to think... and we just focused on doing the work without thinking about anything else... and the time flies!

Have a great weekend, you too!

That's right, my wife has a hard time understanding that when I concentrate, I don't have time to focus on anything other than that particular job.
