Gaming is not for everybody. In the past I was playing strategy games that would last hours and hours but with a more mature age, I can't dedicate so much time for gaming ;-).

Thanks a lot for your comment!

Rising Star is my favorite.
It has so much to do and I love it as all real players here and no bots allowed. There are no multiple accounts allowed, either.
Rock On!

I have been trying out a bunch of different blockchain games recently. The ones that I have been putting some time into recently are Splinterlands, Exode, Risingstar, and Town Star.
My favorite of these is easily Splinterlands. The others have their charms, but Splinterlands is the only one that feels like a full polished experience. Plus it is actually fun to play, which sadly a lot of crypto based games are not. I’ve always liked trading card games, and I really like the way Splintlands has created their own spin on that. I’m currently only in Bronze II, but I can see myself playing this game for a long time. !LUV 1

I agree with you that Splinterlands really offers a great experience. This are well thought through and the things that are planned are exciting. I'm particularly looking forward for the land expansion.

I haven't played any blockchain based games at all. It's not that I don't like playing games, or that I am unaware that those games can help me accumulate crypto. Instead it's a combination of not being particularly attracted to any of the games on offer and not wanting to invest time and effort into learning how to play them. I'm certainly open to getting into a game, should one come along that fires my imagination...

I'm sure if there was a game based on chess you would like it :-). I think that splinterlands has a bit this dimension if you know how to play it. You need to think what your oponent will do and adapt your cards accordingly :-)

I'm a blockchain-based game addict and besides the list that you give us, I play Sorare and NeonDistrict. Both of the games are on Ethereum blockchain but they rely on Layer 2 solutions. I do not have any criteria to start playing a blockchain based game. As long as there is a Play2Earn mechanism, I can dive in ^^

My favorite game is unquestionably Splinterlands. I grew up as a fan boy of Yugi-oh and the game enabled me to live my dream :) I guess strategy games are my favorite branches. Apart from it, the most profitable one is Alien Worlds. I have made decent amount of money by clicking on mine button ^^

Blockchain-based games are likely to be the shining starts of next craze in crypto ecosystem. Hive is doing great on it :)

Alien worlds is probably the worst game I played but the most profitable one lol. I also like Splinterlands and I'm very excited for what is coming with the land expansion. I played a lot of strategy games in my younger years and if I can combine that with cards, play2earn... I'm quite happy :-)

Thanks a lot for your comment!

At the moment, Rising Star. I liked brewMaster but... It seems to take way too long to do any missions etc. I get that people need to make money. However, if I have to pay for everything or most things, I'm not going to keep playing. HolyBread is a good click and forget game. Dcrop looks interesting but like most things, there was a super secret pre-order event. So, I missed out. If a game wants 20 hive, I will skip playing it. Alien Worlds is ok but stupid slow for me. I don't have an easy way to add to my Wax balance.

The Rising Star is one of my favs at the moment, too! As someone said in the comments, no bots.. that's a good start... And I'm used to stress a lot in gaming, and in RS I don't have that stress... so, one point more for it! :)

I have an account for every one of the games you listed except Exode. I also play Upland, Spells of Genesis, and Crazy Defense Heroes. However, I have recently stopped playing Cryptobrewmaster. With the increased cost of neededing a passport, not fully understanding how best to progress in the game, and not being able to figure out how to earn much, it was just not worth the effort. I also played Town Star for a while, but found it takes too much of my time on order to progress in the game.

As far as my favorite, I would say I generally prefer the card games (mostly Splinterlands and Rising Star). dCity is OK, but there is not much of a "play" aspect to it. I am also waiting to see how dCrops plays.

Right now AlienWorlds it's easy and rather passive but has depth to it to learn it.

Exode my first play though yesterday was a bit of a learning curve at least for me idk about others. Took me a while to grasp what was going on and what to do which makes me feel like it wont be as popular now. Simplicity of Alienworlds is what makes it great and so popular. The chance at NFTs, staking and so forth make it fun to earn.

I think the success of alien worlds is it's simplicity. Everybody can get started easily and once you are in it, you can start to improve your tools and search the best land. I have played it for quite some time. Then I got a bit bored but got motivated again when the FOMO broke out :-)

Thanks a lot for taking part!

Ok, my experience. I play, or I should say, I've played two games: Holybread and Cryptobrewmaster. And for quite some time.
Holybread started to bore me, I'm still pretty high but I can't do it anymore.
Cryptobrewmaster I've been playing since the very beginning, as a beer lover I posted regularly #beersaturday posts for the last three years here (or more?), and all that, I've invested quite a bit in it, I've won weekly prizes several times, but: lately, I've been losing money brewing beer, I've been paying more for all the supplies than I've been getting for the beer I've been selling, so I'm slowly getting tired of that as well. And this is not normal.
I also have quite a lot of some cards that are completely useless, I can't even sell them (especially now that they introduced some stricter conditions for the market) so the will to play this game is slowly passing me by. More and more there are some unlivable conditions in the game, various cards are piling up, I can't sell them and I'm just waiting for one day when I'll pull down what CBM tokens I have and spend them on something else ...

I don't want to play anymore, I'm spending too much time on it. I'm not exactly the youngest and I still have something useful to do in my life. Maybe it's too much with this crypto world...

Just my five cents 😎 🍻

I never really went into the Cryptobrewmaster game. What you say doesn't seem to be really positive. I think that a lot of games on the blockchain are lacking in many respects. They either have a poor game play or poor tokenomics or both combined. It can get boring quickly.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience!

I actually am into quite a few crypto gaming opportunities at this time. I own land in the UpLift, which I have not developed yet, and in UpLand as well, I play some of the GALA games, as well as games on Wombat. I like all of the #Hive games I am involved with, for sure. #CBM is likely my favorite, although they all have good points. #Rabona is another one I have taken a liking to. #Holy-Bread gives a nice upvote for playing as does #Human-History. #Exode is really cool, but very intense, almost too much for me compared to other crypto games. One that has not gotten a lot of attention on Hive is #Ocean-Planet, which is a dystopian Ocean Planet Sci-Fi game that is pretty cool. It is a typical mining game, but with some cool twists. One game that looks super cool, but is still in the very early pregame stage is FarSite. This game is basically a referral system right now that allows you to build a ship, just by signing up. Later, there is going to "crate drops," which will help you further in the game. As I said, it is in the very early stages now but looks promising to me. Of course, I stake #WAX cards to #R-Planet, but instead of trying to figure out recipes, now I trade the Aether on Alcor for the other WAX currencies as needed. Mostly, I buy more #NFTs on WAX, but I also like to stake to the #Alien-Worlds planets, and also #PGL for the "Prospectors" game. Honestly, lately, a lot of my "Crypto Trading" activity has been of course buying my regular investments for HODLing, but more and more it has been just trying to keep up on the growing NFT and gaming markets. Fun times we live in when you can literally buy "property" in the real-life "matrix" or "ready player one..."

0
0
0.000
avatar

That is quite an impressive list of games that you are in. I also gave up the Rplanet reciepe thing. I can't help to think that it's just too expensive for nothing tangible. You can't even stake the things you get. So I stake some abundant AW NFT's there just to cash out the AETHER and buy WAX with it. Thanks to the AW boom, I could buy quite an impressive amount of WAX and now I'm staking WAX and getting a return with it :-)

Thanks a lot for taking part in this mission!

For sure! I try to stay up on as many as I can. Some will fail, but some won't. I think the key is to be an "early adopter" as much as possible. Like with #CBM, I was the first person to buy a US Passport. I agree with R Planet, although I guess there is a way to stake the elements you create, although I have no idea how. Kenneth Bosack was talking about it in his Discord, but I got lost and gave up.

Splinterlands
Rising Star
Cryptobrewmaster
Dcity
Holybread
Alienworlds

Currently, The King has delegated members of his kingdom to participate in the above listed games. Our royal scribe posted the Kingdom's royal report last week here:https://peakd.com/ctptalk/@kingneptune/the-kings-gang-over-at-king-neptunes-kingdom-all-hail-the-king

The King's favorite game is the one that makes members of his kingdom happy. Based upon the royal scribe's report all members of the Kingdom participating within the gaming atmosphere are rather content with their individual progress. I did speak with our "RA" resident alien who is our royal ambassador for the "Alien Worlds" game and RA mentioned something about needing to buy "Wax" to boost his CPU? The King requested RA to set up a follow up appointment for next week to give his royal gamer/technician a chance to investigate.

With the activity on Alien Worlds going up very much, the need to have some more CPU may arise. I think the free CPU of all users has been reduced to deal with the amount of new players coming in. The easiest way to get some WAX is to exchange the mined TLM on alcor exchange into wax and then stake it.

Thanks a lot for taking part!

Right now I would probably say Splinterlands, since there's the most "game" to it. I liked God's Unchained well enough, but the whole Etherium block chain thing really put me off on it.

Other Etherium/Enjin games that I've tried are Lost Relics, which is okay if you like Diablo style games; 5 Dragons, which was barely playable with my PC specs; Kingdom Karnage, which barely had a player base; Min-Mins, which was an interesting concept, but poorly documented; and Forest Knight, which was too poorly scaled or just pay-to-play in a single player game. I haven't kept playing any of them actively.

I've been casually playing Rising Star and Holy Bread for other Hive games. I played a little Crypto Brewmaster, but had trouble getting into it. Dcity was too much of an investment for too little gameplay.

I've been doing mining on Alien Worlds, but it's not exactly a game right now... more of a faucet that paid out very well. There's R-Planet and Collect.Social, which are also more farming mechanics than games :/ I tried Upland early on, but found it extremely boring and not really a "game".

I tried Neon District, but the minimal content didn't really hold my interest too long. I had the same problem with Town Star, the gameplay wasn't all that appealing to me.

I tried to play Dark Country, but couldn't find an opponent. I might give it another chance if they develop the game more, but right now it seems like they're more interested in doing "land" sales than making a card game people actually play.

I just picked up Exode based off Khazrahk's recommendations. Seems interesting, and nice to see something that's more of a game and less of a monetary scheme dressed up as a game. Or, a game that would have been better without having blockchain items tossed in to add a paid element.

Curious to see Unsung Hero when it comes out, which hopefully will be out on Hive sometime this year. I'm probably forgetting a few, but this is probably a decent sized list for now ;)

You seem to have gone through most of them :-). I kind of agree with you that at the moment the quality of blockchain games is probably not really that great. I think when it comes to finition and entertainement, Splinterlands is a notch above all the rest.

Honestly, I am disappointed by most of the current block-chain games. They consists mostly in idle games, in which you just wait and click once every hour or so. I am anyway still "playing" a few of them: 0xUniverse on Polygon/Matic, dCity, Aliens Worlds, RPlanet, and Neon District. However, they are quite boring and I will probably drop some of them soon or later.

Fortunately, I found a couple of nice block-chain games:

  • Recently, I am participating to the Eth conquest alpha, the game is nice, the strategic side is really interesting. However, it feels a bit too much like poker for me: yes you can play to "earn", but you can also lose your investment if the other players are too strong. As long as the other player are only losing free money I am fine, but I may have moral issues after the game release. 😅 I understand some players will not have an issue with this, so if you want to have look, it's here. The alpha is closed, but you can have a look at the rules and at how the alpha session is on-going (I'm in the TOP3 currently).

  • Finally, one of the reason why I came to Hive is @exodegame (thanks @khazrakh ), and I found this game very promising: the game-play is interesting, quite intense during the Evacuation and the price to play is low enough so that everyone can enjoy it. With the upcoming colonization (coming in a few weeks), I am really interested to see how this game will develop. On the top: it's not a PvP oriented game. Looks here if you are interested (you can get a permanent planet NFT if you participate in the Colonization alpha). :D

I agree with you that the quality of most of the blockchain games is somewhat average and it's often more about investments and return than gaming. I might have a look at exode but at the moment I'm lacking time for that :-)

At the moment, I like most of the games exactly because of that... that they are idle games as I don't have too much free time to play "regular" games...

But, I do get your point... I think that it is just a matter of time when we will see "tokenized" traditional games... Imagine Diablo like a game where you have NFTs stuff, earn some tokens, spend, etc... Or even FIFA with similar mechanics... Exode is one of the games that shows that it can be done, but there is a long journey in front of us until we see more quality in blockchain gaming...

Thanks for a great comment!

What kind of blockchain games do you play?

I have pretty much played all the games listed above and I would like to add Kolobok to the list.

What is your favourite game and why?

As for my favorite game, I will choose Rising Star. Mainly because there is a community around it and there are a ton of people in there. They also got some great music every Sunday to listen to.

Its also an idle game with zero up-front costs and I don't have to deal with issues like Alien Worlds when their server or WAX goes crazy.

Since I've discovered Rising Star, I've been playing some missions every day. It's a cool game and I also like the shows on Sundays with all the gif ;-).

Alien Worlds is a no brainer. I was really lucky to have started before the fomo and I managed to collect quite a lot of WAX thanks to it :-)

Thanks a lot for taking part!

I haven't played blockchain games outside of the Hive ecosystem (and the old blockchain). So my impressions are from around here. I still think Splinterlands is the king. As we have seen numerous times with games on Hive, it's very difficult to keep motivating people to play, have fun and keep a functional economy for the game for a long time. Splinterlands team somehow manages to do that, even though things are not always perfect. Other than that I still play Rabona and dCity. Nothing else at the moment.

I agree with you. It's a new world and games have to be fun to play and also have sound tokenomics at the same time. I think that in this respect Splinterlands is in a category above all the other games so far.

For me it's Splinterlands for sure. It got me into the Hive and dAPP space only a few months ago, and I've been branching out from there. It's a deceptively simple game, with actually a lot of depth to it. The best part is, it's also becoming a big part of my crypto trading pathway. DEC's interoperability with Hive, ETH, and Binance chains, combined with it's relatively stable valuation makes it an incredibly useful currency. Really impressed by the Splinterlands team, and can't wait for the Land systems to be introduced!

That's actually a very good point. I've been using Splinterlands also for this to move money around from Steem, Tron, ETH, BSC and Hive. When compaired the fees are quite interesting! I'm also looking forward to the Land extension. I can't picture yet how it will be but it sounds exciting!

Thanks for taking part!

I totally missed the mission again :) Thats because I was writing about games in my most recent post on leo finance
Well as some of you know I like Splinterlands a lot and Risingstar is also a very cool game. Both games are actually earning me some small amounts each day. I like it when a game is rewarding.
What other games on the blockchain? There is plenty one of my favorites is Upland. It has a slow pace and you can play with a few clicks a day.
There is a first person shooter coming by a company called VIBE, as I love FPS games I am really excited about that.
I hope I am not too late :)

No problem :-). Thanks for your comment. I have tried Upland but I haven't invested and it seems I can't go anywhere. On the other hand the game doesn't inspire me enough to make an initial investment.

Yeah it is kinda boring, I made good progress in the beginning I onboarded some new accounts and they made me a decent amount of UPX also new players are ready to purchase property that I bought for 960 UPX for 10k UPX, I will probably exit the game as soon as they have the Fiat market installed :)

I really don't consider myself a gamer at all. I did get roped into dcity which is great because you can leave it alone and it auto-runs. I am kind of excited about dcrops. It seems simple and seems low maintenance (which is huge to me!).

I started to play dcity and liked it a lot for the same reasons but I'm a bit lost with the new update. It just got very complicated in my opinion :-).

Thanks for taking part!

I like the fact that dcity is essentially a miniature economic model, in my view anyway. But doggone it has a lot of options and variables. That's what I DO like about dcrops: you have land, you have seeds. You plant seeds in land. You wait, harvest, sell. Simple is a good thing! !LUV

I play Rabona, Rising Star, DCity and Splinterlands, but I enjoy DCity and Splinterlands the most at the moment. The other two games feel a little too grindy for me.

I'm a bit lost with the update in Dcity. It looks like my tax declaration when I look at the market lol. Thanks for taking part!
