Liotes is Exploring NFTs!

The HIVE blockchain is our home and our base, but that doesn't mean that we can't explore things that are outside it... Actually, if we didn't explore outside our planet, we would never find Liotes :) So, we have decided to explore other blockchains where we can create other income sources and create additional value to the project base...

As many of you guys already noticed, some kind of "natural" way of expanding this project is to go into the world of NFTs... Personally, I (ph1102) have "avoided" the NFT world for quite a time as I was thinking in the wrong way... I was thinking it's something that is a perfect thing for artists, designers, etc., and not for an "ordinary" guy like me... To be honest, I think that Achim had a similar view to this thing before, but some great possibilities are opening in that world...

A lot of Hivians (including myself) are playing Splinterlands, or Rising Star and those games have cards that are NFTs! Those cards give you some bonuses in the game and help you along the way... Or to make things easier to understand, they have a USE-CASE! And those are the magic words that we like to hear...

So, we are starting our exploration of the NFT world, and the first stop is the WAX blockchain, which is considered as a "home of NFTs"... I have mentioned a couple of websites inside the video, so here are the links to them...

Coingecko WAX page https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/wax

WAX Cloud Wallet address: https://wallet.wax.io/

Official website: https://wax.io

Alien Worlds game: https://alienworlds.io/

Also, check out a very useful article about WAX in more details written by our Liotes supporter @jfang003 https://leofinance.io/hive-167922/@jfang003/wax-block-chain-overview

Happy exploring!

When you first start with the cloud wallet, I think they buy you a little bit of RAM. Then they delegate some CPU/NET for you. As for the NET, I have not really needed to stake anything more because it is only for transferring the results of your actions. CPU though is used more often as it does the work for each of your action and you need some more staked if you plan to use the block chain often.

One thing I want to clarify is that RAM does not regenerate over time. It is your storage for NFTs and only restores after you let go of NFTs through sales or burning them.

Thanks a lot for the additional info!!! It's good to know that new people get some resources... I didn't wait for that as I have bought some WAXP on Bittrex and transferred it to the wallet...

Thanks again for clarifying certain things!

Yea the RAM issue is the most confusing aspect because I had dead koloboks that were filling up my memory. I think I have burned at least a few thousand of those dead guys to save on RAM costs but I recently found you can convert them into KBucks (probably recently). Too bad the captcha is annoying otherwise I would give the rest of my 100+ koloboks over to the bounty guy.

I have been trying out Alien Worlds the last couple of weeks. It’s a pretty cool idea. In case you don’t know, if you are holding unused alien worlds cards you can stake them to rplanet.io. They give you payouts in Aether. You can then swap Aether for other Wax tokens on wax.alcor.exchange !LUV 1

Thanks for the tip! Alien Worlds is a huge thing on WAX, and not just there, but in blockchain gaming in general... The game token, TLM had a huge pump today, and make rich some of the players...

I know about Rplanet staking, but I have some personal concerns about it as it is not "staking on the blockchain"... You actually SEND your cards to their platform, and they aren't yours until you unstake them... I know that maybe it's not a big deal, but still, it's not in a "blockchain spirit" :)

I have heard that about them, so I have only been “staking” my cards that aren’t worth much. I took a lot out to sell during these last few days though.

Well, you don't need to go far for NFTs they're already on Hive blockchain ...

You are totally right. NFT's are on hive but also on Etherieum, BSC, WAX and I probably forget other platforms. On Hive the creation process of NFT's is possible but not that easy yet. You can go through the registration process on NFT showroom and then propose your artistic NFT's or you can even create some on Open Hive. The problem so far is that creating NFT's on Hive is not free and not really stright forward, especially if you want to create NFT's that are not in the artistic field. In this respect, Wax is more userfriendly and cheaper.

WAX is a great place to make stronger connections via Liotes. I think it will have a nice share of market with the popularity it has ^^

Great update, thanks dear 😌

What I like about WAX is the userfriendlisness of the whole platform. It's very easy to create an account. You can buy, sell and trade Nft's very easily and the transactions are free. When I look how splinterlands has extended to WAX, I believe that Hive and WAX are a combination that works quite well together.

For me personally i find that "gamify-ing" the whole stake / mine / defi "thing" for "the average joe". And as ph1102 has pointed out, the use case for the coin is verry important. However many avoid the blockchain out of fear of complexity.

usually people stop listening about 13-20 seconds in to your dialogue, or teaching attemt. They are sure theyy womt neather manage to learn it. the ones who listen to the end, do so out of a need to be polite. however. i will rise on the blockchain without them if need be.

they know where to find me! :)

It's true that the crypto world has a certain entry threshold. People need a minimum of effort and learning to know how things work. On the other hand, this knowledge is readily available if we look a little bit around. I personally like to learn new things on a regular basis. Like that I force myself to go out of my comfort zone and to increase my horizon. However I realised that not everybody shares this :-)

Thanks a lot for stopping by!

Unfortunately, you are right about people listening/reading/learning... The vast majority is too lazy to dedicate time to do research and dive deeper... On the other side, that's good for others who do that as they can position themselves better and earn more...

Sooner or later, the first group (that didn't want to learn) will come back into space and join others as there will be no other option... So, why not skip all that and make an effort in the first place? :) :)

Thanks for the comment!

WAX is awesome. I've minted a ton there on AtomicHub. A few months ago I made this Dcity-featured NFT over on the WAX chain: https://nefties.com/pages/free.html (scroll halfway down the page). It got a couple of people to sign up for Hive. If anyone here would like one of the NFTs, I'd be happy to give you one. Just get a WAX address and let me know and I'll transfer the NFT to you.

The more I'm involved with WAX the more I see it's potential. What I like is how userfriendly it is. I signed up for a free NFT ;-)

That's interesting. I created an account on WAX a while ago. Maybe it's regarding Splinterlands, I don't remember. I haven't used it, but maybe if you'll expand there I will.

I was actually on noise.cash and there were quite a lot of LEO users that where shilling Alien Worlds on WAX. So I tried it out and mined a bit. That's how I got on wax. There are quite nice aspects about it.

but maybe if you'll expand there I will.

That's the spirit! And trust! :) :)

We will see how it goes... Still brainstorming, but I see a lot of potentials there... ;)

I have already been thinking about how to incorporate NFTs into my online entreprenurial activities and the gamification acpect. I would love to see you guys implement a simplified dCity or Alien Worlds type format to not only generate income, but also to help increase the gaming aspect of this program...maybe even create another token for that aspect.

We are still brainstorming how we can use the platform and its benefits... It has some really cool perks and advantages that we like... If we go deep into that, you guys will be the first to know... And we will try to explain how it works and how you can also benefit... ;)

I would love to discuss this process with you morer when you have had a chance to dive further into it. I would really like to get more involved in this myself and will be researching various aspects in the near future. It would be nice to bounce some things off someone in the same boat and compare notes.

NFTs are seriously the play. People keep talking them down like they are losing popularity but I honestly haven't seen that myself. Just recently sold a $1,000 NFT lol and I sell a crap ton from gaming on Wax. I'd honestly like to see them integrated more into Hive some how. Now that would be cool!

I hope it will happen very soon! That we will have more and more NFTs on Hive!

I have heard in the last podcast by jongolson and taskmaster4450 that alien world played out quite well for you :-). I totally agree with you about NFT's and I think we have seen only a small part that is actually possible to do with them.

Yes, I agree. I think we will reach a point where it saturates and only the top end products prevail, but for now it is open season!
