Hive does have one thing that is completely in line with CTP. You do a lot better when people know, like and trust you.
I think engagement is really the key here. At the very least, answer everybody that comments on a post. I just love commenting on people's posts, and obviously do it much more than I write.
And passion. I've been thinking about writing about motorcycles once in a while just because that is me. I've tried it a couple of times and quit because of 'lack of return' but I think I'm going to sneak a MC per week in for a while. What's the worst thing that can happen? I get to write about my favorite subject. Oh well if I do it for free. I wasn't going to get rich anyway.

Very true. Hive is al about being yourself and sharing your own thoughts. A good way to experience the variety is exploring all the wonderful communities, as you said.
I'm currently guiding someone, who always wanted to get into blogging/writing, but that person is overthinking it way too much thinking a blog on Hive requires masterpieces in terms of content, which is definitely not the case.
As long as you are passionate about something, you can write about it. :)
Such a huuuuuge misconception about writing blogs in general. No one write good in the beginning LOL that's just a fact. The only way to get good at something is to practice! :D It's nice that you are guiding them! 👍
