July’s full moon is one of the most well-known full moon names in the calendar, known as the Buck Moon or Thunder Moon. What does this moon look like? The July full moon is more commonly called the Buck Moon because bucks show off their new, fresh antlers on July’s full moon. It is typically the second full moon of the summer, and it is the third largest moon of the year. You can read more about the full moon HERE.

It’s been said that we humans actually like the moon for all the things that it brings out in us. It makes us feel safe, secure, and just happier overall. It’s not just a coincidence that this is the most common symbol used in mythology, art, and literature. The moon has a lot of power over our mood and how we physically and emotionally feel. It’s normal to feel afraid in the dark, but it’s the moon that brings light to the night and sometimes chases that fear away.

It’s so easy to feel a heightened sense of awareness and emotion around the moon, it almost feels magical. Some people attribute the moon with feminine energy. The moon caters to fertile grounds and with its presence everything seems softer, more radiant, and more impressionable. It’s easy to see why this celestial body generates so many ideas and feelings in the macro world. This brings us to this week's challenge.
