My biggest hurdle has been getting my auto responders working efficiently and also writing blogs and follow ups for my newsletters. CTP has helped me immensely.

Awesome to hear man! I've been reading your mails, and they look really good. Imagine where you will be in 6 months from now :)

Keep pushing!

Thanks Jon. Thanks for taking the time to read my mails. I am going through all of them again and trying to improve. Staying ahead with follow ups has been a little challenging

Don't get me started on that. We all have our day-to-day activities, and adding something new can be almost impossible. Action takers like us make it happen :-D

What has been the most difficult hurdle you've overcome since building your online business? Or what is still holding you back?

Learning curve. Learning to trust myself and see something through to completion.

I hear that...Great book by Jon Acuff about that called 'Finish'...Talks about that and how important it is to see things through.

Yes Trusting myself is huge. especially with learning how to create content.

Yeah, sometimes I think my content is too simple, or doesn't have the polish that other people do. I just write anyway. 👍

My biggest hurdle to date is understanding the Crypto stuff. But I am working on changing that

Here we go. Since this is the daily chat, here's some good news. Thanks to #ctp for the advice to modify my emails.

Some results from my last couple List Nerd mailings.

Taking some advice from ctp brought my ctr % way up. Most times it's in the 0.30's %.

Brilliant stuff!

Small changes usually make a huge difference in online business.

Indeed. I now have an action step on my Trello board to go through all of my autoresponder emails and do the same thing for the primary action I want people to do in my emails. 👍

That is awesome, CTP advice is the best. I went from having no clue to a definite plan that I follow daily :-D

I have a question . Who started the #3stepsnoexcuses challenge?
I have not been able to figure that out

I know it is based on Plus 1 Success

That was us. We developed it around the ideas of Plus1, and constantly be improving our businesses by doing achievable goals to push forward every day.

I thought so. I just want to give credit where it is due

Jon and CTP crew started it. Core group of us did it daily for 30 days.
I decided to take it further and have started building my own business and brand around 3 Steps Today as a primary starting point.

As an FYI, the hashtag should really be #threestepsnoexcuses. More than one front end doesn't support hashtags that start with digits. I am going through my backlog of content and modifying it to remove references to 3Steps.... and changing it to #threeStepsNoExcuses.

Thanks for that. I wasn't sure about the hashtag

No worries. Yeah it was a bummer, because I really went to town using that one. :)

One of the things that becomes a hurdle for me is putting into action the things I'm learning.

I read a lot. The problem with reading is that if you don't put into action what you are learning about, it's useless.

I tend to read and then stick the ideas in the back of my mind and never take action on them. Something I need to get better at.

0

avatar

Yup! All too familiar with this one too...

0

avatar

This happens to me a lot. I read about something then later when I want to put it into practice, I cannot find the post that had all the details or the sources.

0
0
0.000
avatar

I am the same way but getting much better. When I read or listen to a book I have to have a pen and pad close at hand. Not just for taking notes but also ideas to apply the processes to my daily business :-D

most difficult hurdle was the not knowing next steps to take. But now that I am part of CTP, there is a lot of direction and sharing that occurs which helps with that hurdle. Now it is learning as much as possible as quickly as possible because I am now playing catchup. I need to just not rush it.

0

Yeah the best way to attack this stuff, in my opinion, is slow and steady.

When people start telling you, that you have to do something quick, errors start to pop up. I like the approach of taking my time to understand it all. But still moving forward every day

0

I feel similar.I want to rush it too. I think just showing up and doing something everyday helps more than anything

Question: I have INDEX which is paing ying out SIM tokens. For what are SIM tokens used? I checked out dcity but it takes a lot of SIM tokens to get started so that option for me is off the table. Please advise.

0

Yeah SIM tokens are the currency inside of the Dcity game. You can use them to buy buildings which increases your SIM income..But right now, the powers that be have messed that game up so much with massive taxes, it's hurt any every day person from enjoying it.

I'm still holding SIM though, and seeing where it goes personally. But the entire game needs to get away from the high taxes.

Thanks. I have lots of different tokens and wanted to put them to the best use possible. I had just noticed SIM could not be staked so was trying to figure out how it could earn me income.

0

You can build a sensible dCity for like two bucks of investment (tax irrelevant).

Your 0.3 SIM is worth like $0.0002 - if that does not sound worthwhile it is more of an INDEX issue rather than dCity's fault.

Thanks for your feedback. I am just starting out and trying to understand all of the tokens and what they are best used for. Thanks again.

There are a lot of tokens in Hive that have a singular purpose, so I have not played any of the games, and usually just convert them to swap.hive or ctp tokens :-)

0

your are right there (lots of tokens). Since I am getting only a few fractions of SIM tokens from INDEX, I decided to reinvest them into INDEX to get the compounding impact. Then I will be getting a lot more SIM tokens later when I do decide to dive into dCity.

What has been the most difficult hurdle you've overcome since building your online business? Or what is still holding you back?

I heard from @joebrochin that you have added blockchain to a web 2.0 in the past and trained some folks like @clicktrackprofit. That definitely is one of my hurdles currently

0

I tend to get overwhelmed easily which then cause my indecision. Which is not good.

I got overwhelmed with all the different projects in Hive-Engine and got to the point where I had no clue what to pay attention to.

I am now trying to get more focused on one or two projects.

My biggest hurdle was more of a realization a few months ago and why I went all in on rolling with The CTP Swarm m. Building a list is one thing, but cultivating that list is another.

WRITING is and always has been a challenge for me. I just finished the Goal Setting Guinea Pig Challenge and even sitting there brainstorming ideas and writing them down was almost painful. That's why I hired Jon to do my emails for the My 1440 list. :-) I have more patience to sit there and work with learning coding and how to purchase crypto with fiat. Even though I didn't have enough to invest in the CUB Defi stuff I didn't mind going through the steps to get MetaMask set up and even go through the process to try and purchase BNB. When I comes to writing it's just like I blank out and hate staring at the empty page or the blank computer screen.

I just listened to a podcast about delegating tasks. If you don't consider yourself an expert at something, hire it out. Not saying you can't learn something or push yourself...But for example, I'll never be an audio whiz...So I hired out someone to do the intro and outro for the podcast. Easy, and a great job done for cheap. Allows me to work on what I'm good at!

@jongolson, I am working on a way to fit delegating more of the writing into my budget. Delegating is a good thing because it gives the jobs to those who are good at them. 😀
Happy Weekend!

I am finding that writing a good article is kind of like performing with my band.
I get nervous when I am looking at all the people but i found that I could close my eyes and shut everything out of my mind and not worry about being judged. It is easier said than done.
I am starting to write posts in the same manner. Don't worry about what anyone is thinking about you.
I like to write as if I am talking to a friend.
I hope you found this helpful

Thanks, Tom! That is helpful and one of those things about which I need to remind myself. I worry too much about what other people think. Not as much as before but still need to let go of more of those worries. Have a great weekend! 😀

Maybe the hurdle for me at the moment is delegating to manage my time better.
There are things that I tend to do on my own either because I don't have more money to invest or I simply don't let go of more things.
Jack of all Trades, Master of None.
I'm more of the second lol
I found a graphic that can help others with their time management:

I'm working on it :)

Nice graphic.
Time management is a huge issue for me too.
I am a jack of all trades also.
Its good to know a bit about a lot of things and a lot about a few things you care about

having a list of all your work and then placing them into this matrix helps. However I have found that fully understanding the work and the importance to your long-term plan is critical. If you wrongly place something in the wrong box, it can sabotage your whole plan. Otherwise I focus on the top two boxes.

Have you looked into trello.com? I use Trello with a a kanban methodology and move my tasks from left (big pile) through categories and finally into my done pile. Works. I am comfortable with it. Helps me keep track of things. I started using it and need to use it more since I am sometimes forgetfull after my head injury. Using an external tool like that really helps me.

Great graphic really drives your point home. I am sure we could all improve on time management :-D

I hold myself back by poorly allocating time. I need to prune the 80% of activities that only generate 20% of the results.

The important thing is you realize where you need to tighten things up. The real danger is not being able to judge between activities that produce & activities that cost. I also need to tighten up my activities list ;-)

Nothing Is Holding Me Back :-D

As a Reseller I do well for myself, so well, in fact, my wife has left her job to work with me on our home business. We are both fully employed by reselling. I have always toyed with affiliate marketing, but have never made any real commitment.

2021 is my year to really make affiliate marketing part of my day-to-day business. The "Know Like Trust" marketing is the best way to accomplish this. My biggest hurdle is letting go of old ideas :-)
