keep adding up those small wins. curious if you are staking your CTP tokens? That is a way to earn even more with your votes.

Very good question. Funny how you had us share what we wanted to accomplish this week in Monday's chat. Always good to track so I had to go back to that chat
https://www.ctptalk.com/hive-119826/@ctpchat/ctp-chat-for-may-17th-2021
to be sure I completed all I said I would.

  • I did engage with 5 hive members not currently posting on CTP talk
  • Thanks to @elianaicgomes for the encouragement. I was able to make my 4th post of the week
  • I am posting Actifit on a daily basis
  • I have been participating in the CTP chats daily and believe my comments are value add
  • I fell short on improving my knowledge of three of the hive family tokens. I will do better next week.
  • I built the earning power of my hive account
  • I received 5 new followers.

I fell short on one of the items I set out to accomplish this week. I will try to do better next week. But overall, I think I did good?

That feeling of accomplishment...feels good huh?
Happy that I could help you somehow!
And even happier to see those results!
So...Yes, you did good :)

Yes, accomplishment does feel good. Especially when I have it in writing that others can see that I did accomplish what I set out to do. I just got to make sure I don't bite off to much at once.

That is awesome . You came very close to your goal.
It is really good to be clear about weekly goals.
I am totally inspired by this community

by setting clear weekly goals, it is very easy to tell if you are achieving what you hoped to achieve. If you make your goals to easy, that is not good either. You should always have your goals testing your limits or pushing you to always get better.

I achieved my goal of joining every CTPChat this week!

I allowed this week’s market craziness to be a huge distraction.

Next week I will launch a blog series I’ve been thinking about for a long time. It’s time for massive action!

Nice, I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
I am still learning about what to post on this platform.
Making sure that the posts show up with the right tags is still a challenge.
There are so many I am not always sure which ones are appropriate

I am striving to create content that will be valuable for years to come.

When it comes to tagging just remember that each tag represents a community, so if it is about business CTP, if it is about Finance then Leo, if your article references business and crypto then use both of them, proofofbrain neoxian archon are general communities, so normally my articles will use those five tags, although I have been considering writing a post specifically for ctp and then a separate post for leo. :-)

I need everyone's opinion: At what point should I take some of my earnings and shift them into one of the tokens like Index, Bro, etc which provide daily payouts? Would the daily payouts on something like Index be greater than what I would get in increased voting value from staking any new earnings in their respective tokens. I was debating this with myself when I saw that several CTP members were adding to their Index holdings.

I would be interested in hearing everyone's opinion on passive investing in tokens vs active curation voting power. Thanks in advance for your response...

(Edited)

I think it comes down to what you enjoy doing and how you prefer to spend your time. If you enjoy content curation then the extra voting power will enhance your joy, you can give out bigger votes. If you prefer to set things on auto-pilot and focus your attention elsewhere, then a bag of INDEX is a great fit.

Or you can just build up your stake and delegate it to a curation rewards program temporarily, then un-delegate when you want to return to manual content curation. Best of both worlds.

I enjoy the content curation. I don't think I would delegate to a curation rewards program at this time. I like reading what I vote for. I will need to research INDEX, I hear it pays out in various tokens.

Thanks. This will keep be busy researching for a while.

It's an interesting question. I think I'll bring it up in today's Crypto Maniacs podcast too.

Here's my thoughts on it.

When I first started on the blockchain, things like INDEX and BRO didn't exist. So all I did for the first 2 years here was build my Hive holdings.

I think if these income tokens were around back then though, I would have taken some of the HBD I was getting, and flip it into the income tokens. Maybe not all, but like 25% a week perhaps.

0

I was leaning toward getting a few INDEX to start from my earned HBD. I will listen to today's Crypto Maniacs podcast to hear more.

0

This is a great question.
Since I am kind of new I have done a lot of staking.
I also bought some CTPM. maybe Index will be next

0
0
0.000
avatar

I am kind of new as well so wanted to take advantage of several different avenues of ways to earn in case my main one slowed down because of any reason. This is the weekly goal that I did not complete. I was going to research INDEX, CTPM, LEO and POB tokens.

0

avatar

This is a very good question and not so easy to answer. It really depends on the amount of tokens that you own. You need about 100 Hive Power to be able to get curation rewards. Before that all your votes don't profit you. This is the first step that I would reach.

Since you earn other tokens like CTP passively it's a good idea to increase your stake at the same time. The curation on Hive and CTP are between 8 and 15%. You get about the same amount with passive investment tokens. This helps to diversify but I would first build your Hive and CTP stakes.

0

0.000
avatar

It is good to know about needing the 100 hive power to get curation rewards. I will need to take this into consideration. Also, knowing the % that curation on Hive and CTP provide helps me with my calculations. 8 to 15% is still a nice return compared to what you can get offline. LOL
I think I read that INDEX pays out in several different tokens (10 to 18). That is the part that interested me to help me grow in several different tokens at the same time without needing to add tags for all of them on different posts. Correct me if I understood this wrong.

0
0
0.000
avatar

The great thing about Index is that you will be earning without needing to create content or even curate. You just buy the token and you will get totally passive income from it. So Index is really a nobrainer :-).

I would however suggest that you also build Hive and CTP stake at the same time. This will not only give you more curation rewards, it will also give more value to your votes and give you more importance in general in the eyes of other people!

0

Very good advice. I have been and will continue to build my Hive and CTP stakes. I stake all of both that I receive from creation, comments and curation. I have also started receiving POB and LEO. I believe these are two tokens that I am interested in increasing my holding based on everything that I have read about them. I am also earning other tokens. I will be taking the extra of them and purchasing INDEX. It may take a little while to build but I am all in. thanks again for the advice.

I didn't know that I needed that many hive.

Hmm I don't apply much science to it but I try to do a bit of both... just winging it for now but I'm very happy with the payouts I'm getting from some projects, especially Utopis. That's one I recommend you check out, if you haven't

Hmm I don't know about a site, but @chronocrypto is the guy behind it so you can find some info on it on his blog.

I don't know specifically which is better but I think it would depend on the token and their APR. If you truly want to optimize everything then you would probably sell off the low APR tokens and get the ones with better returns.

However I personally haven't cared and prefer to give more to the people I vote.

0
0
0.000

the respective APRs would impact any decision. I am trying to optimize returns so that my voting value increases thus giving more to the people I vote for.

Aw thank you :) for now I've been gathering the number of comments and how much CTP were distributed on the comments upvotes of the day before and share on the next chat post. What I was thinking doing on Mondays is gather the totals of the week. I've been writing down each day so it's easy to sum up. What David requested and could be a good motivator is which was the highest number of comments in a day so far, so we ca try to beat that on the following week. Would you recomend any other stats to motivate the CTP Peeps?

Oh no please don't do all that manually.

From tomorrow I will stop by here everyday and post the stats , you just don't worry about it .

Hive Engine was playing tricks on ctptalk front end to reply but there's no chat on the weekends for now. But every time the chat comes on I normally share on leomarkettalk. I can tag you if you want on the comment if that works. Jon is in charge of the account but he normally posts around 2/3 pm UTC :)

I totally get that. It sounds so simple, but doing it is something totally different. I'm going to give my best shot. First I'm going to focus on this until I can make this a habit, then I'll start moving on to the next step. Thank you for your input, Achim.

I had a break from my regular routine this week so I have done a lot of catching up and also revamping my website and newsletters.
I started a new thirty day challenge this week and am hoping to add some videos and unique content this time around.
My challenge this next week will be finding a balance when I am back to work during the day.
I will have to do more the night before preparing for the next day to keep up.
My biggest worry is having the time to complete what I need to do everyday.
Ultimately I will try my best to succeed and that will have to be good enough.
Not wanting to do my day job anymore is what is driving me right now.
I want a sustainable income with online marketing in the next 6 months.
That is my goal and what I intend on doing

You are correct. I am very challenged by time management.
It feels like way to much sometimes but I am trying to not have excuses even if I am tired.
I will check out these books. I could use some more skills around this for sure.
I think maybe I am trying to do too much sometimes, but I need money and I need to make my other projects succeed also.
Thanks Jon

time management is a big challenge for most of us. the tips and tricks work differently for each of us. Find what works for you and then adjust it to make it better. I am always adjusting to try to get better at it.

Keep hammering away at it and eventually you will be an efficient getting stuff done machine. We all know that when you are juggling your business with a full time job, and the exhaustion catches up with you that things can seem unmanageable, just keep a tight grip on your schedule, and when you find something that does not work for you eliminate it, always schedule yourself enough time to rest as you want to avoid burn out :-)

This week I created a new explainer video for Liotes. We also started a manual curation program for people from CTP, LEO, POB and VIBES. That was quite a lot of work and we were quite efficient. I think it's about time to make a new update for the CTP Swarm.

I have a question for the chat:

I will make soon a new update of the CTP Swarm and I see a lot of new active members in CTP that are not in my list. Could you please add here the usernames of the people that you think I should add into the ranking?

The ones that first come to mind if you didn't add them yet: @darmst5339 and @alente are still redfish but can motivate them somehow. There's also @jimmy.adames and @mba2020 that I'm not sure how are they on the fishinghood at the moment lol

The Last 5 Days Have Been A Challenge

The great thing about being self employed is that you can really have fun knowing that everything that you do will generate money for you and your family rather than a faceless corporation. The bad thing is you will not get paid for what you do not do. There is no such thing as sick pay or vacation days when you work for yourself.

The mistake I made was trying to do everything, and be everywhere and I just could not manage to get out of my own way. In trying to maintain an unrealistic schedule I missed most of my goals and am hoping that I can use this weekend to try and get as much done as possible before Monday :-)

I’m hard on myself, so I’m always going to feel like I could have done better, but I just finished creating a couple of splashes, lead capture pages with videos and communicated and requested with an ad site owner for a promo code linked to me and he hooked me up, so more free ads to provide new subscribers and current subscribers alike. I wanted to start promoting, but fell short. So next week is simple, continue my activities on the blockchain, but go full steam ahead on building my new list by getting back on track on my email marketing after a couple of weeks focusing on content.
