The theme for week 5 is SMALL BIRD

The Carolina wren is a small bird. 5.5" (14 cm.)

It is a southern bird whose range has spread northward during the warmer winters of recent years.

House Finches are also one of the small birds that are common in my backyard during the winter Just slightly bigger than the wren 12.5 to 15 centimetres (5 to 6 inches) they add a lot of color to the black and white days of winter.

Another small bird, Chickadees weigh less than one-half of an ounce and are 4-5 inches in length.

During cold weather Chickadees need twenty times more food than they do in summer. They like to eat seeds and suet.

hello dear friend @ melinda010100 good afternoon
What beautiful photographs, you are blessed to have that background where they sometimes pose for your lens.
I have to buy a camera or a good phone with which I can take good pictures, this camera that we have is not good for capturing images of birds.

have a splendid afternoon

My camera works because I lure them close to me with bird seed! 😁 I can take the pictures through the window when they are just inches away!

This technique helps a lot, here the birds do not come very close, perhaps at a distance of 20 or 30 meters, for this I need a camera with a good lens.

Such cuties! The wren is adorable, I have some Carolina wrens around they are fun to watch. Don't have any chickadees yet I'm hoping some find their way to my feeder yet this winter.

I think the wrens are adorable. I hope they were wise enough to head down your way as the bitter cold temperatures move in here this week! The chickadees are here year round. I think they enjoy being in the woods

great pics. i hope the carolina wrens are able to survive the severe winter. any species spreading their range is taking a lot of risk

I haven't seen then the past few days, maybe they wisely left to go on a February holiday to a warmer place.
