A Tough Draw

The draw for the last eight of the Champions League has just taken place. Eight teams from several European countries were drawn to determine their opponents. There are three teams from The Premier League who compete in the last eight namely Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea. The draw has been made and no English team to derby in this last eight. Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea will play against the teams from other European countries. Like Liverpool going to play against Real Madrid. The draw for the last eight of the 2021 Champions League is really tough. They are all big teams in their respective leagues.

As a Liverpool fan, I'm a bit worried about Liverpool meeting Real Madrid again. We know that Real Madrid is a giant team in La Liga though they are currently in third place in the La Liga standings. I still remember when Liverpool lost to Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League in Kiev in 2018. At that time Gareth Bale's two goals and a goal by Karim Benzema, dashed Jurgen Klopp's hopes of winning the Champions League. Well, this season Liverpool have been performing poorly in the Premier League, but they have managed to penetrate the big front of the Champions League. And the result of the draw, Liverpool against Real Madrid again. I really hope this time Liverpool could beat Real Madrid.

I hope Virgil van Dijk can play again soon so that Liverpool's defensive line will get stronger though Nat Phillips is already there. This time, the defenders will not face Cristiano Ronaldo because he has already moved to Juventus. However, Liverpool should not underestimate Real Madrid strikers, such as Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema. I still remember how Gareth Bale's wonderful overhead goal was not able to be cleared by Karius in the 2018 Champions League final. I hope it will not happen again at this quarter final, Liverpool must send Real Madrid back to Spain.
