Bruno Fernandes became the determinant of Manchester United's victory over West Bromwich Albion through the execution of a penalty. But more than that, Fernandes' contribution was recognized.

Bruno Fernandes' penalty execution won Manchester United 1-0 at home to West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford. It was Fernandes' sixth Premier League goal of the season, half of which he scored from 12 points.

Fernandes also temporarily became MU's top score. His score far surpassed Marcus Rashford in second place who had just scored two goals.

Apart from his goals, which were partly created from penalties, Bruno Fernandes' contribution was recognized as lifting MU's performance. His presence on the field makes the 'Red Devils' now at least be able to create opportunities.

The Premier League notes that the 26-year-old midfielder has created eight great opportunities. That record only lost to Harry Kane, who created nine great opportunities for Tottenham Hotspur.

The views of Scholes are shared by his former teammate at MU and the England national team, Rio Ferdinand. All MU attacks started from Fernandes and he saw the Portuguese player enjoying his role.

MU is currently in ninth position in the Premier League standings with 13 points from eight matches
