I don't know if you saw the game but it wasn't convincing. A week before the Euros and Southgate put out an 'experimental' team, experimenting to see just how useless he can be.

England won 1-0 and with a well-taken goal from Arsenal debuant, Bukayo Saka and Grealish played well although I wish he'd stay on his feet. Other than that, we were poor. Southgate bangs on about winning 7 friendlies in a row but seriously, in my last 10 years, I can't remember a time England played with coherence and belief, it's like they are just going through the motions.

Anyway, the friendlies continue and it's time for my Nigerian posse to show their stuff as...

This is a big game and in recent years, Nigeria have had the upper hand, the two teams' last meeting at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. Tonight's game is the first of two friendlies they will both play this weekend and takes place in Austria!?

The Super Eagles are struggling a little to make up a team with 3 keepers in the squad of just 20 leaving only 6 outfield players to choose from if needed. Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Joe Aribo, Leon Balogun, Zaidu Sanusi will all be missing which means the team will be disjointed and under-prepared. It's still a practise game though and by the time the World Cup qualifiers come around in September, no doubt Gernot Rohr will have them well prepared.

Cameroon will have star man, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting playing. A big lad who wins aerial duals in defence and attacks the high balls in set pieces and will be a handful tonight and with no major injury or tiredness issues, I feel Cameroon will have the upper hand. They just need one of my football idols, Roger Millar to come out of retirement!
Just googled him, he's 69!!! How old am I ? :-(

The Small Print

In the first goalscorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition will roll over if there is no winner. If more than one person chooses the same first goalscorer or correct score, the prize is shared and everyone gets a little upvote! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget the new rule that only people with a rep of 45 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved. The bonus will be added to any winnings ONLY if Leeds United win and/or Man U lose and all payouts will never exceed 50% of post payout. Other bonuses paid out at my discretion.

We had a few winners who got the correct 1-0 scoreline but no one, yet again for the first goalscorer whose pot now rises up to 8500 tokens!
