Two out of the 3 matches yesterday were postponed because part of the pitch was frozen. They will be played next Wednesday at 17:00 and 19:00. I managed to get into a good spot in the match that was played with a chance to hit a 2 unit+ jackpot which unfortunately did not hit despite having some good profit. I have been in quite a good streak these past weeks and overall confidence is quite good going into the 4 matches today...
Standard vs Antwerp
Standard closely won their cup match against Kortrijk after extra time and penalties while Antwerp simply was not good enough against Club Brugge despite being on a 3-game winning streak in the league now being in 2nd position. Under their new coach, Antwerp mainly turned into a defensive team and they are fortunate in the number of points they managed to take recently. They still have many important missings with Haroun and Mbokani but do have Lamkel Zé in a good form being somewhat accepted again in the team. Standard went on a winning streak after their new coach was assigned being highly effective in the chances they scored overperforming a bit. Looking at the standings and streaks Antwerp 2nd going WWW in their last 3 matches and Standard being 7th going on a DLD having played extra time in their mid-week match, the money on Antwerp moving it to +0 makes sense. I see Antwerp right now as more overrated compared to Standard and am willing to oppose this move taking a small-medium bet on
Standard +0 @ 1.945. I also expect a rather defensive-minded apraoch from both being unwilling to take much risk. It is quite known by now that Antwerp just lays back luring on the counter. Both teams do have a tendency to somehow score goals out of nowhere in bunches. So I just stuck to taking a small pre-game trading position on
1st Half under 1 @ 2.062. plenty of room also to take extra in-game depending how this match plays out.
Beerschot vs Mechelen
This same match was played in the cup during the mid-week with Mechelen taking the deserved win with a 0-1 score. They are on a good streak climbing in the rankings while Beerschot has been in a big downtrend even though they only lost 1 of their last 4 league matches. They have been playing very defensively and I don't expect anything else today. I do expect a similar match with Mechelen being the better team trying to break the lock while not taking all too much risk to get countered. The main trend that has been going for a while is Beerschot losing their corners matchups (They lost the last 10 league matches there) as they mostly give the ball to their opponent. Mechelen on the other hand is has performed quite well on the corners so taking
Mechelen Corners -0.5 @ 1.794 is the bet I took a bit on with an eye to hopefully take more in-game on whatever I believe provides some good value.
Charleroi vs Club Brugge
Club Brugge is back at their peak form even though they still have a hard time to actually cover their big handicaps. They have been a perfect team to back whenever they fall behind as they are able to increase the pace if they have to while also having plenty of scoring power. Charleroi as a team no longer is the team that just plays defense breaking down their opponents simply because their defense isn't as good as it used to be right now. The state of the pitch might be a point of worry but I'm willing to take small bets on
Club Brugge 1st Half -0.25 @ 1.762 since I do expect the visitors to be better wanting to finish the match early with an eye on the upcoming Europa League match. They are also the best 1st half away team while Charleroi is still one of the worst 1H teams in general. In case this one loses it would give an option for more bets in the 2nd half or a Club Brugge come from behind possibility. I also like the Over since the defense of both tease teams is not what it used to be while they both have options to score and took a small initial position on
Over 2.5 @ 1.901 again with an eye to possibly take more.
Cercle Brugge vs Anderlecht
Anderlecht finally started to make field goals in their last 2 matches where they only managed to score on penalties before. They have shown by now that they can be trusted when it comes down to work ethic but still are somewhat mixed in their actual performances. Kompany has played with the same team now not doing any rotation for many matches in a row in a short period of time which at some point will come catching up on them. Cercle Brugge got a new coach but things haven't really changed all that much as they took another loss by 1 goal at the end of the match against KV Mechelen last weekend. In the Cup, they took a surprise 3-1 win against Oostende which might have boosted their confidence. Anderlecht deserves to be the favorite in this match based on what they have shown but this might very well turn out in them having an off-day because of fatigue with Cercle having picked up confidence from the cup match. The in-game match picture will likely give a lot more clarity on this. The one bet that tempts me the most is
Both To Score @ 1.840 on which I took a tiny bet. Cercle has lost 9 out of their last 11 matches by a 1 goal margin which has not been all that random as they just always closely fall short. Anderlecht to win by 1 @ 3.50+ is also certainly an option. I am keeping most of my betting action for in-game.
