Be a laser beam, not a flashlight.

Just pick one thing and concentrate on it.

You're such a talented person, I'm sure you could find something.

You have so much knowledge, you just need to learn how to apply it.

And on and on and on.

Yet here I am and I still don't have a thriving business. Why? Because I don't really want to do anything except maybe my daily steemit blog/ulog. I love the idea of writing novels. I have one short story written and published and not enough umpth behind it to market it.

I love the idea of having a blog and selling affiliate marketing, but my blogs, are like this one, with no cohesive pattern or niche product, or goal. I just like to write about my day.

I think I want to take up being a scopist, but in reality, I don't like the idea of training, and finding work and then making $500 - $3000 per month. Ok. I like the idea of making that much money, but I don't like the idea of having to work for a few months training, to have that be IT. It feels like as soon as I am there, I will be looking for something else. So 3-12 months of training and about $5000 for the course and the new computer and the program, and then $500-$300 income? Yeah, I'll still be praying for steem to moon.

But I'll be home with my baby... and glued to a computer...

Maybe that's the issue, I have grandeur problems. I want that 100K per year income and I want it now. If I am going to concentrate for 3-4 months, and invest about $5000 shouldn't the outcome be more the $500-$3000 per month?

But then... doing nothing and sitting around and waiting for change to come on its own isn't working either.

Solutions, solutions...

According to the Bible, Is it sin against God if a law enforcer is forced to take someone's life in the line of duty?

I suspect that you aren't really looking to hear yet another idea, but I'm going to offer it anyway ;). One of my kids had a girlfriend that made a living at home between transcribing business conference calls and being an editor for technical papers (or some such thing). No serious training, just a knack for writing and editing (she was an English major).

If you can get paid to do what you really love doing in a place you love to be, then it really isn't work (I'm only partly there, but at this point, it's good enough - and it pays well :).

Thanks for sharing - no doubt you are not alone in your situation...

I tried transcribing before, it was extremely tedious to me and took a loooooong time. I ended up making something along the lines of 6 bucks an hour. I figured that if I got twice as good, I would be making $12 and minimum wage where I was working before was $18, so it seemed like a bad idea to keep at it. Scoping is a version of transcribing but you learn how to read short hand. I am training for it right now. I do like the work of it which is helping court reporters type out their depositions. I guess its cause I am nosy.

I did have a writing gig until last month when the publication lost their funding, and I have done some editing - but it seems like constantly having to look for gigs - which is exhausting. Maybe if I had a few constants.

Thank you for your comment and for taking the time to read. I suspect my "real" "problem" is that I am over eclectic and could do many different things which means I end up doing none.

I get it (especially the nosy part!). I would be a lousy private consultant if I had to find my next gig! I hope you find a comfortable niche sooner than later, even better if it finds you :)

Getting paid for what you love to do sounds like a fantasy to me, I love to walk and the most I have gotten for that is being hit by a car and of course a few AFIT tokens from ACTIFIT.

I didn't mean to laugh at your comment, but I did find it comical. Getting paid to walk would be nice. I used to joke around and say I was going to be a mailman, and get paid to walk around all day. I am not so good with schedules though...

Actifit does sound like a nice way to get paid to walk, but unfortunately, its not so profitable.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
