How Can We Reach 100 HIVE A Day In Passive Income?

How Can We Reach 100 A Day In Passive Income_.png

I love settings goals!

I truly believe this is one of the best ways to keep accountable to yourself, and allow you to measure and monitor how well you are progressing in anything at life...

Write those goals down, you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish :)

When I first joined the blockchain, I came up with a goal of hitting 5000 staked tokens in my first year of being here. You have to remember, this was so out of my reach at the time because the tokens were trading at all time highs...We're talking 8 bucks per token!!

5000 powered up tokens would have cost me over $40k USD at that time and it was so out of my reach...But I was fired up and excited for the potential of this project so I developed a plan....

The whole 5-500-5000 idea came from this. I needed to follow a daily habit that would turn my actions on the blockchain, into 5000 tokens or at least get me pretty close.

I had an end date set to hit the goal, the desire to do it and well...The stubbornness to make it happen!

I actually hit my goal way before the time I had planned so I know this stuff can work...When you write your goals down, and develop solid habits, big things can happen!

Fast forward to my new journey here on HIVE...

This week, I've decided to create some new goals for my personal account here...

Thanks to the hardfork and my desire to sell off the 'old token', I'm going to hit 50,000 HIVE Power pretty quick. And that's something again, I never thought in a million years I'd be able to reach when I first started here....

But with my online business focused on HIVE and our game plan for bigger and better things along the journey, I wanted to see what it would take to...

=> Reach 100 HIVE a day in passive income! <=

So I'm going to take an inventory of what I've got going on right now and see how far off I am (or even if it's possible right now...)

Content Creation - Between 20-30 HIVE (HP) A Day

This does fluctuate depending on many factors, but still a big chunk of my rewards here come from creating content. I've set up the habit of creating every single day and haven't missed a beat for quite some time. I love doing this, but it's still...'Work'. How do I get these 20-30 passively is the question?

Delegation - Between 0.8 to 1 HIVE A Day

I delegate to projects like @Qurator @Curangel and @ThisIsAwesome which gets me around 1 HIVE per day. I could increase this obviously with more delegation but it's still nice to get a chunk everyday for letting my HP work for me...This is what I'm looking for more of!

DLease - 3.829 HIVE Per Day

I just started playing with @dlease this past week and it's pretty slick. I lease out / delegate to projects looking for funding and I receive around 14% return over the next few weeks and months. This can go up obviously if I lease out to more projects and members of the community.

Sale of CTPM on Hive-Engine - 1000000% Up To The Market

This can net my partner and I hundreds of HIVE a day....Or none. The market decides if they want to purchase these mining tokens. And while our plan is to always promote and bring awareness to the token, my goal here is to have steady and reliable 'HIVE income'...So While these are cool and a nice little bump, it's not a guarantee every day.

Curation - Roughly 5 HIVE Power A Day

Here's my Achilles heel of the blockchain. I'm the first to admit, as much as I love supporting others with upvotes...I do a horrible job of maximizing my curation efforts. I think it's because of a few factors...

  1. I've never understood the science behind WHEN to upvote someone for maximum curation rewards.
  2. I've never used a curation trail or auto vote system

These are my own fault and I think the more I dig into these points, I can increase my rewards. I saw a bunch of really cool (and uber confusing) posts this week about maximizing our curation...That's on my homework list this week to learn more about it!

When you put all together, here's what I'm looking at:

Using the TOP numbers form each, I'm at around 39.829 HIVE / HP a day from my efforts here on HIVE.

This is combining the passive forms of generating HIVE like delegation and Dlease....As well as my own efforts with creating and curating.

Obviously, I've got a lot of work to do....

But the goal of 100 HIVE passively a day on HIVE can be done!

Now it's time to learn about how to maximize my returns here while never forgetting why I'm here in the first place..!!!

I truly believe it's time to Thrive...On HIVE!

P.S....If anyone has any ideas on how to create more passive income on HIVE, I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions :)

You can most definitely make 100 a day from just delegation. Though you'll definitely need a good amount invested to do that. Same with curation, My math shows having 250k HP should be enough for 100 HP as curation rewards every day. Content creation is iffy. Bigger authors probably can get there, but its hard to do that as a new author.

Yeah a lot of those factors we (as creators) have zero control over like you said...So for sure, we can put the power in our own hands and get 250k lol

Oh trust me, those are the big goals for me for sure! I think a combo of everything would suit me better...Just cause I still have no idea how and when to upvote for maximum return LOL

Be the first person to vote and vote the 5 min mark. Max curation. But most likely you won’t get that. I don’t try and maximize curation. I vote a post if I like it, no matter the time.

Yeah see that's always been my thing, which I guess hurts my curation...If I liek a post, I'll give it a vote...But I always miss that 5 minute mark LOL

Did some more math. Qurator pays out 11% APR(using the last distribution to calculate it, the one from yesterday was even higher), so it looks like its the best delegation to make without having to actively manage it(like you do on dlease). So to get 100 liquid hive, you'd need 332600 HP delegated to qurator.

Dlease has the week wait that you won't get paid for while you wait for the undelegation, but that 14% is pretty nice(though it is the maximum, average is a lot lower at 12.68%). If you get max return for a year straight, you'd need 260k HP delegated. But delegating that much, you'd lower the market a ton. Using average, you'd need 300k HP.

But this is all liquid Hive that you'd be getting unlike curation reward, which would be powered up.

Hey Jon
On the goal to have 100 hive in day I also follow first 3 options already. Like I create content daily to get some tokens, delegation to various projects and get daily liquid, and also recently started with dlease which is also sending nice liquid everyday.

As you mentioned about curation reward, I admit that I am not good at it because I stop by great post usually after half an hour and that's not the right time to get more of curation. Infact I just checked yesterday that my all time Curation income is 100 hive only while I am very close to mark 10k hive Power (already above 9900).

100 hive daily is something that's not easy but this seems good to have as goal and keep a track to see how far we have come.

I like all the options you shared. Thanks much.

I need to be more active on Hive. I increase CTPTokens by over 150 a day on average, but don't have enough Hive to do much with. But I will be looking into collecting more as I go.

Hey, I've got a question about CTP, how does payout happen? 100% staked or a split?

60/40. 60 to the creators and 40 to the curators.

But that 40% from curation arrives liquid in hive-engine. Correct? Not 20% staked and 20% liquid. Some tribes like neoxian do that.

Ohh ya right....Nah it's liquid. We never changed it so it should come to your wallet not staked.

I’ll keep buying those miners so you should see some hive rolling in until my steem power downs stop.

i hear ya. i haven’t decided what i’m gonna do. power it all down. or leave a few thousand steem just in case it moons lol

appreciate that very much!!!

I’m gonna leave 50-100 steem, so that my auto curation keeps running. Not so much for steem, although it will keep growing, but more for some of the interesting steem-engine tribes.

They look to be moving over...Which is pretty cool...Some of the core ones like SCT wont move, but Hive-Engine is getting a pretty impressive list right now.

Sure, one tribe that seems to be on the fence still is the upfundme tribe. I heard they were pondering using an ant instead in combination with a community and staying on steem-engine for the time being.

Lot’s of people in that tribe that try to maximize roi or are into gambling games. They might care a bit less about decentralization.

100 a day is a nice goal

I must admit I well below that,
I post every day and try to upvote those posts I like, sometines I do a random upvote but very rarely
I engage as much as I can.

I will be happy when I can make 10 hive a day at this stage,
Then I will focus on 100

that’s how it starts man. you hit a goal. smash through it and then keep building.

@tipu is pretty competitive to dlease I believe. And easier to set up, less maintenance. You simply delegate to @tipu or buy tpu token on steem-engine and get rewarded with both steem and hive.

The best ROI I see is from @votebetting. This guy is a maniac for finding profit. Mostly by investing in games that give good profits.

@elbrava Much love for the shout out thank you
@jongolson how much hp are you lending out?
Calculate the total and total you recieve a week in payments and let's see if we can beat it👍

I'd say it's around 10k HP right now...

Any idea what you get a week in payouts. I know it's hard when you have multiple streams. I am currently paying someone 85 hive a week for 30k dele think it works out at 15% profit ROI. Could do you 30 a week on 10k if your interested. Payments are made on a Sunday in liquid hive👍

No just have the token.
In some of the previous posts we have some of the token etc held by the account.
Majority are held off platform mainly staking coins and others on a high interest rate.
Those are mainly just held incase we run short on payments on platform.
We never have. You can have a look at the curation etc where most payments cone from. We are currently running at 70% but should be around 80% by the end of the month and hopefully get above 100 next month.
We have the same sp and hp on both steem and hive. We are currently only paying for 30k hive dele the rest is incorporated in the cbi token on steem.
We currently hold 3.5k spi tokens which at today's prices we have enough for payments for some considerable time.
Trading is another important part of how we produce income. We run that off separate accounts so will be a little hard to work out.
So overall posting,curating,trading,divs👍

The health of the platform requires that passive income be only possible to achieve by buying into it. If there's a way to game the system to get a hold of a stream of tokens in exchange for nothing, then it will be exploited and that part of the inflation will not benefit the ecosystem in any way. Unfortunately, that was the case on Steem where bid bot abuse ran rampant as it was possible to post no-effort crap and buy votes on it with a positive ROI.

Oh absolutely. That's a great point. As much passive as I would love to see the daily totals be, I'm all for and continue to buy HIVE.

It's also fine to stake earned HIVE and to get paid for delegating it or just holding it.

Those are indeed very nice approaches and honestly the threshold of earning hive passively is a great approach. I am following one or two of them already need to make myself educated one one of those as well, to add it to my portfolio 😉
All the best!!

I think it would be awesome...Imagine making a decent daily income from everything on HIVE....I know at all time highs people were, but right now, if we can build it, when HVE goes up it'll just be huge bonuses :)

Great post and 100HP isn't unreachable for you... Actually, you are getting close to that number day by day...

Personally, I like the idea and I have made also my personal goal... they were 1000 HP per month and will see how it goes... so far so good... as Steem powerdown helps at the moment, but it will not last forever...

On-chain, content creation, leasing HP + curation is my thinking forward... off-chain, a bit trading BTC-HIVE and powering up "earnings" on hive... ;)

Cheers!

Great goal Jon, and nice that you laid out the numbers so you can visualize them and see where you are now, and thereby what direction you need to work in to increase that by 150%, good luck and stay awesome.

Is creating content passive? I guess it depends :)

50,000 VESTED should get you around 20 HIVE a day in CR, better than the banks I reckon!

Oh man, lights years ahead of a bank for sure :)

It's so funny...We're in my Discord right now and I'm just discovering curation trails, mostly because I never messed with them.

Almost 3 years on the blockchain and I'm learning new things every day. It's amazing. HIVE is literally too good to be true.

The trails, curie/curangel are a nice way to support decent new accounts when you don't have the time to curate. Add your fave authors to an auto (2-4 mins) and your CR should improve - not everyone's cup of tea but I think if you are trailing the curation accounts and doing some manually voting too then why not.

Having a plan and writing it down enforce you to work towards achieving your goals. Hive is going to do much better in the future. It is the right time to make a plan and work on it. Thank you @jongolson for sharing this!

Fantastic idea.

Never thought it this way!

As a publisher, I mostly focus on content... definitely exploring Dlease and the others.

39 is great.

100 is definitely a goal worth aiming for (even personally).

For sure...And I know some folks might not consider our content as 'passive' per se...But I dunno about you, but I love this stuff...I enjoy the creative process and writing every single day :)

So while not 'automatic' it kind of is...If that makes any sense LOL

anybody who has spent a good chunk of time here and thought about maximizing earning has thought about all this.
The only difference apart from people actually making it happen is how you have calculated and sorted them out. You have taken the time to make it happen.
Depending on the resource available and time put it, I believe 100Hive a day is very possible.

0

Yeah for sure...And it won't happen overnight unless you have 500k HP to dump into something LOL

So we show up, every day and grow our passive HP...It starts to add up for sure :)
