Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG)
A term that gets thrown around in the business world a lot is the BHAG. The Big Hairy Audacious Goal. A goal that is seemingly unattainable at the moment. Especially when you look short term.
For this account my BHAG is becoming a Hive dolphin. Which means getting 5000 Hive Power. As I don’t even have 5 Hive Power besides delegations yet, this may seem quite useless. But it is not.
As my short term goal is to get 250 Hive Power by the end of the year, I would normally be only focussed on the short term. I would look at the days that are left in the year and see how much Hive Power I would need per day to achieve that goal. I would take the compounding effect of curation rewards into account as my Hive Power grows throughout the year and that would be it.
By taking this bigger BHAG, it forces me to think not from the standpoint of where I am right now and the rest of the year. But it shifts my focus to this BHAG and where I am headed. Right now, I do not earn any Hive from curation. I do earn some tiny fractions of hive-engine tokens, but it isn’t much yet.
However, on the road to 5000 Hive Power, curation will start to make a much bigger impact. Also there are some investment tokens on hive-engine that have pretty impressive ROI, so I will have to take that into account. Miner tokens on hive-engine are another possibility to grow. The return on investment for dcity also seems to be pretty good. But is it better dan using Dlease or delegating to @tipu?
If I really want to grow fast, then what will give me the best result?
For the short term, creating blogposts and engaging with people will be the only driver for growth, but in the long run there will be multiple ways of doing it. So I will start investigating that in future blogposts.

Author rewards have the biggest ROI :) 5K is a nice chunk, and I think that I made that after 1 year... or something like that... But, there is a big difference between you and me...
I had no clue what I am doing at my beginning, and you know exactly what you should do... So, 5K HP in 7 months? It's not impossible... ;)
Btw... Can you explain to me in 2-3 sentences about the advantages of delegating to @tipu, if it's not a big problem? Or maybe that can be your next post... (Post idea ALERT!) :)

Yeah maybe not. @Tipu is a business, but it’s better than dlease. When you delegate they pay you daily from the profits that tipu makes from curation and leasing hive power.
The best part is that lots of people curate for tipu and they get a share in the rewards. So if they find a great post that rewards really well for curation, then they benefit from that themselves.
So tipu has lots of very dedicated curators. That is why they offer a pretty nice return on investment if you delegate.
And @cardboard who runs it, is also a nice guy.

I was using @tipu when it was classic paid-bot on the old chain, and I know about curators and they are doing a great job... The only thing that I didn't know is the ROI and how they pay their curators, delegators, etc...
